Game Informer's Epic Mickey cover really IS epic (update) photo

Check out the hotness! That right there is Game Informer's teasing cover image for the long-awaited Warren Spector-developed "Epic Mickey" game. Rumored to be a steampunk Wii game that gives grown-up Mickey Mouse fans something to really chew on, the "Epic Mickey" project is an incredibly exciting one, and this ludicrously cool art is most tantalizing indeed.

Now all we need, of course, is some actual gameplay to look at. This thing has been a concept for a very long time, and hopefully Game Informer will finally shed light on the whole thing. Still, I can't wait to see this thing in motion and find out if truly the expectation is worth it. We're going to have to sit tight until such Intel comes out way, so I guess all we can do right now is fap over that artwork.

Well? Get fapping!

[Update: GI accidentally loaded a full page to the Internet before promptly tearing it down. Luckily, however, we nabbed the page and can now spill some first solid details. Firstly, it's confirmed for the Wii as a single-player title and will be released in Fall 2010. Check out the page, shown in our gallery.]

Is that the Haunted Mansion I see in a prominent place on the cover? I think it is.

Best game ever CONFIRMED.

Also, twisted version of "it's a small world?"

I WANT THIS NOW.

Seriously though, I'm surprised the Mouse Haus is allowing such a departure from the norm with this.

I know it's not really cool to say but I hate seeing all this amazing concept art knowing that, more than likely, this will be a Wii exclusive and that art isn't going to be realized nearly as much as it could.. I know the Wii exclusivity isn't confirmed or anything but I think it's highly likely (and makes sense).

Oh well. Like I've said before, I'm sure it will be a great game regardless knowing who's behind it.

I hope that if this is a Wii exclusive, Disney pushes the hell out of the Wii and proves everyone wrong saying

a) They can make a good game and

b) The shitty-looking Wii games from before are the developer's fault, not the console's.

Wow very impressed with the artwork so far!! I was really expecting a basic, vanilla platformer for E10+ category but this looks promising.

It's kind of a cool picture, but that means nothing other than this game will have cool art direction. That doesn't mean it won't be good, but it's also far from proof. I don't really see the appeal of an adult Mickey game. But if there's an audience for that, I hope they get a cool game.

@GuitarAtomik

This is actually confimed as a Wii exclusive...

@NihonTiger90

Actually, your b) point as been proved several times: just look at Super Mario Galaxy, Muramasa, Metroid Prime 3, SSBB, Red Steel 2, Monster Hunter 3, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Little King's Story, The Crystal Bearers, etc... all those games have great visuals... bad games with bad graphics are developers faults, not the Wii. Yes, the Wii can't achieve graphics like the 360/PS3, but I'm not expecting those kind of graphics on the Wii (that's why I have HD systems), but I also love my Wii as much as I love my other systems (I like games, no matter the platform), but just because I'm not expecting the same visuals on the Wii as in the HD consoles, it doesn't mean that I wan ugly graphics on my Wii games.

I think Disney might be taking gaming a little bit more serious now. If this is the new direction Disney is taking with games, sign me up please.. I am assuming this one will be good or if not better than Kingdom Hearts...

Only time will tell...

The bad thing about this game being only on the Wii, is that the game probably won't look like this amazing artwork we've seen so far.
