Game Debate to the Death! Tifa VS Aeris photo

Last week we continued our best gaming heroine debate by arguing over Perfect Dark's Joanna Dark and Resident Evil's Jill Valentine. Here were the results:

  • Joanna Dark: 31 votes
  • Jill Valentine: 61 votes - Winner!

Jill joins Samus and Jade as the winners in the next round, and that leaves one more bracket open for our female fight to the death. This week's debate brings babes from the most famous Final Fantasy game out of the whole series -- Tifa and Aeris from FF7. There was plenty of women to choose from, but these two are most widely known and praised.

Which woman deserves to win? Does Aeris's famous death get her sympathy points? Or has Advent Children left you looking for more Tifa? Which of the two turn based RPG tramps is the better gaming heroine? Weigh the pros and cons, cast your votes, give your reasons, and check back next week for a winner and the setup of round two. Aeris did nothing. sure she had Holy. sure she was the jesus christ of the game. sure watching her die was one of the saddest moments of my life. but Tifa is a girl that KICKS ASS. btw did you ever notice how big her boobs are?

The first time I played FF7 and got to watch Aeris die, I wasn't sad. I was PISSED. Here I spend a good chunk of disc 1 leveling her up and the bitch goes and dies! Tifa all the way. Even if the tits were reversed, I'd still pick Tifa as not only could she fight, she could also sling drinks at a bar.

Why Fronz? Why'd you have to set these against each other?!

My vote is Aeris, since she is the perfect woman....sure she died halfway through the game, but who else was willing to SACRIFICE themselves for the planet? Sure she didnt have great offense, but who else kept your party alive during the tough times? Sure, she might be thought of as naive, but WHO else acted as the ray of hope throughout the mission, and, even in death, did her part to save the world by casting Holy. Aeris was pure and WAS the planet...

Anyway...sorry for that rant...I've just been a HUGE Aeris person since I first played the game...and have always had to concede defeat to all the rest of my peers who cant see past the fact that Tifa has HUGE breasts to see the qualities that Aeris has.....

So, Tifa will probably win, but Aeris is the real winner to me :(

Sorry to go along with the crowd, but Tifa. I was always irritated: here's this hot girl who Cloud's actually hung out with before, a girl who likes that an asshole like Cloud, and he goes with some girl he met off the street. I was like, "Aeris died? Kinda sad...but now it's Cloud+Tifa! Yay!"

Oh, and to be technical...it's Aerith, not Aeris. Let's support accurate translations when we can.

I must say, I'm quite pleased at the range of reasons against Aeris on these comments. Normally, all I hear about are the breasts, but the whole "dead" thing is pretty funny.

Although I resent that "cutting ourselves" remark :P

Its not that I dont enjoy Tifa's breasts and kick-assery (yay, I made up a word)...I just prefer Aeris's personality and style.("honorable looking?.. she's beautiful")

Wow, I actually cannot decide between these two. I like them both, albeit for completely different reasons. I suppose Tifa would make a good girlfriend, but Aerith would make for a good wife. Take that as you will.
