Game Debate to the Death! Phoenix Wright VS Henry Hatsworth photo

Last week was another battle between a recent-ish DS game versus an older DS game, and this time the support was for the other side of the fence. Here are the results:

  • Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure (36 votes) -- Good Show!
  • Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (9 votes)

This week we enter the finals round of the Nintendo DS brackets. Both contenders received tremendous amounts of support leading up to the finals, so I predict a lot of people will be torn when casting their vote. In true odd debate fashion, these two games are very hard to compare to one another, so I look forward to reading a lot of well thought out comments this week.

Which game do you think is better, and why? Give it some serious thought, get some DS friends to share their opinions as well, and check back next week for the winner.

Bonus Question: What four PSP games would you like to see in the next few rounds of debate?

Phoenix Wright gets my vote. Especially if we're talking about the first one. Hatsworth is a good game, but it still feels kind of sloppy, where PW felt very polished and complete.

PSP games? Yggdra Union, EXIT, Jeanne D'Arc, aaaaaaaand Every Extend Extra.

This is super tough.

Both games are so different, not only between each other, but just from what they offer to the DS.

My vote has to go the good lawyer though. Phoenix Wright is just an awesome, original idea, and the characters always manage to make me smile.

Four PSP games?
- Death Jr.
- Final Fantasy: Crisis Core
- Infected
- Twisted Metal: Head On!

Phoenix Wright gets my vote. While it may not have much replay value, the story is great, the characters are fleshed out and intriguing, and it's pretty funny.

Phoenix Wright, Hatsworth doesn't even close. Henry Hatsworth was such a dissapointment. I can't even bring myself to get far in it. The platforming is not that good, the combat ranges from OK to annoying and the puzzle game is boring.
Gamer CX 2 is a much better DS game, I'm having way more fun with that.

I vote for Gundam Vs. Gundam for the PSP game. Also Crisis Core.

That is... hard.

Vote: Phoenix Wright
It's a hard decision for me since H. Hatsworth is so charming and PW can sometimes be a frustrating and tiring experience for me, but I just love the story/ies in the PW games and the characters too much.

Can't answer bonus cause I don't have a PSP long enough to be too into it yet.

I gotta vote for Phoenix Wright. Henry Hatsworth is great fun, but I've played all of the Ace Attorney games, and they hold a special place in my heart.

I own and love both games, but I've been most impressed by Phoenix Wright, perhaps because of the characters stories.

I vote for Phoenix Wright. I tried Henry Hatsworth but didn't enjoy switching between platforming and messing with the puzzle. The puzzle felt more like a chore than a feature.

God, this one is hard as fuck. I love the stuffing out of both of these games. They both have a fantastic sense of humor and charm that really tickles my fancy.

That said, I'm gonna have to go with Hatsworth. As awesome as the twisted, dramatic plots of Wright are, the gameplay boils down to a graphic novel. Hatsworth wins in my book simply because it has very solid gameplay to back this humor.

Phoenix Wright the first DS game I actually really liked.

As for PSP it would be fun to see Locoroco VS Patapon I think

Phoenix Wright for the win!

It's a game that I still pick up and play over and over again. It's one of the few DS games that I enjoy doing that with. Most others I'll play once and then never pick up a game. Plus I'm very ADD with games. I'll play a game for a bit then put it down and then pick it up again a few months later. I never did that with Phoenix. In fact I only craved more and I still crave more.

Bonus question: Definately LocoRoco vs. Patapon. Those are two very addicting games for the PSP although LocoRoco 2 was better.

Bonus bonus question: For all you Phoenix Fans, who is your favorite character? Mine's Edgy. *snuggles Edgy*

I gotta give it to Phoenix Wright. Henry Hatsworth sounds like a novel idea, but it didn't have enough appeal to warrant a purchase for me.
