Last week was another battle between a recent-ish DS game versus an older DS game, and this time the support was for the other side of the fence. Here are the results:
- Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure (36 votes) -- Good Show!
- Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (9 votes)
This week we enter the finals round of the Nintendo DS brackets. Both contenders received tremendous amounts of support leading up to the finals, so I predict a lot of people will be torn when casting their vote. In true odd debate fashion, these two games are very hard to compare to one another, so I look forward to reading a lot of well thought out comments this week.
Which game do you think is better, and why? Give it some serious thought, get some DS friends to share their opinions as well, and check back next week for the winner.
Bonus Question: What four PSP games would you like to see in the next few rounds of debate?

The bonus question has no bearing on me since I don't own a PSP.
As for PSP games, Monster Hunter Freedom 2, Wipeout Pure, Patapon, and LocoRoco.
I wish I could just list Monster Hunter Freedom 2 four times. It's by a large margin the best PSP game out there.
hell, it even somewhat reminds me of the NES days when a game didn't just last a night or two, had tons of replayability tucked into secret level design areas, and actually challenged you to beat the game. i like that it's not a dumbed down metroid or DK country game. it has some british balls to it.
all that being said, i can't really fault ANYTHIING phoenix wright did, but i can fault several things henry hatsworth has done. some of the more challenging aspects of the game are obviously done on purpose, but i have to doubt the reasoning things such as letting me die AFTER a boss has been killed. come on, seriously? there's also a few level areas that are just as poorly designed as the countless brilliantly designed corners of each level. so that knocks the game down a few points.
but if i made a list for all the pros and cons of each game, henry hatsworth offers farrrrr more than phoenix wright, and shows a lot more imagination by varying levels and even the gameplay design itself. so there's really only one choice i can make this week.
VOTE: Henry Hatsworth.
One of the first hand held games that made me really play my DS even I was at home (usually I only boot it up when I'm out)
I'm pretty biased because Phoenix Wright was one of the first DS games I bought and that really got me into portable gaming, so I'll have to go with Phoenix Wright. And Fronz brings up a good point about the imaginative design, and if that were the contest it would be Henry Hatsworth hands down, as it stands I thought that at no point in Henry Hatsworth did it come close to that satisfying feeling of yelling your final objection in a case when you nailed someone.
I am not voting for this one either, I will sit in the front row to enjoy the melee. Thank you.
Bonus: Pursuit Force, Pursuit Force, Pursuit Force, Pursuit Force.
Phoenix Wright is just a story. It doesn't even deserve the title of video game.
PW is king.
PSP:
GTA (vice or liberty)
Lumines
Monster Hunter
WipeOut
(Extra extra PSP uses Porn vs Emulation)
By seamlessly combining my favorite puzzle game with a very addicting action platforming game, EA has made one of my favorite games of all time. I will admit that it is just hard once you get in to the treasure dimension...and I too fell victim to the death after boss trick. But it just works on so many other levels.
My vote is Henry Hatsworth
About PSP...mmm...i haven't played a lot of psp but my picks would be God of War, Patapon, MGS Portable Ops and Tekken :3
As for PSP games:
- LocoRoco
- Patapon
- God of War: Chains of Olympus
- Lumines
That and the game goes from a difficulty climb to a difficulty cliff, it gets insanely hard after awhile and the bosses take way to long to kill.
Henry Hatsworth has a BULLSHIT difficulty spike.
B.Q.: Patapon, Killzone: Liberation, FFVII:Crisis Core, Echochrome
Bonus: Syphon Filter, Monster Hunter, Crush (great game, underrated), and Death Jr.
I've never understood the facination with Phoenix Wright. I found Phoenix games extremely boring and tiring experiences.
That's mainly because Phoenix Wright doesn't try to do much beyond tell a story and throw a few dialog-tree-related puzzles in your path, while Henry Hatsworth decided to take a high-level 2D platformer and experiment with grafting the best puzzle game of all time into it as an action gameplay element.
Vote: Henry Hatsworth, because it dares to try something new and different in a platform that exemplifies the video game industry's insistence on rehashing the tried-and-true over and over again.
