Game Debate to the Death! Favorite Final Fantasy game? photo

In last week's poll I asked everyone to pick their favorite Uncharted game out of the three main console releases from Naughty Dog. Over 1,200 of you voted and here are the results:

  • (78.17%) Uncharted 2: Among Thieves: 974 votes -- winner!
  • (15.89%) Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception: 198 votes
  • (05.94%) Uncharted: Drake's Fortune: 74 votes

Classic example of how one game in a successful series has overwhelming fan appreciation, yet other games still resonate stronger with some gamers. This week we tackle a series far larger, far more convoluted, and far more debated. To keep it simple and easy, this debate will not include any Tactics, MMORPG, Crystal Chronicles, spinoffs, etc releases from the series. That means fans of FFX-2 should not vote for FFX in its place. Keep reading for additional rulings on how this debate will work.

The series can still be a bit confusing for some, such as Final Fantasy IV being released as Final Fantasy II outside of Japan, as well as FFVI getting released overseas as FFIII. For all games in this debate, we are using the original Japanese release chronology. Lastly, yes, remakes of originals count. If the Final Fantasy III DS remake was your favorite, then you can still vote for FFIII.

Which is your favorite Final Fantasy game that's listed in the poll below?

Share the reasons for your choice in the comments below. What aspects of its game design and gameplay made it the best? Did something else factor in?

Give it some serious thought, share your thought process with all of us, and then get all of your online friends to join in on the fun! Check back next week for the winner and a new debate!

Lords of the Fallen trailer: Lustful women and a moody CCR cover

Lords of the Fallen sits somewhere between Darksiders (#darksiders2) and Dark Souls. The trailer, with the God of War-styled heavy petting foursome, leans toward the former.  With the trailer comes the announcement that those who pre-order get bumped up to a Limited Edition, which just means some weapons, The Monk's Decipher DLC, and a soundtrack.more
