Game Debate to the Death! Crisis Core: FFVII VS Patapon photo

Last week's debate put two distinctly different games against one another, and I have to admit I'm surprised by the outcome. I knew it would be close, but I thought the cult classic PSP game was going to pull out a win. Here are the results:
  • Patapon (18 votes) -- "Win-win-win-winner!"
  • Monster Hunter Freedom 2 (14 votes)

This week we enter the PSP odd game debate finals bracket. I'm happy to see two polar opposites duel it out in the end, but I'm a little disappointed in how few votes have been cast so far for the PSP brackets. There's a healthy PSP community that has been able to keep up with the DS community despite the unbalanced amount of game sales, so now is your time to come out and support your favorites!

Which game do you think is better, and why? Give it some serious thought, get some PSP friends to share their opinions as well, and check back next week for the winner.

Bonus Question: What are some PC games you'd like to see in the next few rounds of odd game debates?

Crisis Core FTW.

I'm have to vote against Patapon (again) only for the fact that I can't buy a UMD copy of Patapon 2 without having to import it. I really wanted to vote for it too....

Crisis Core. I really want to like Patapon but the timing is too strict and the conditions for fever are ridiculous to get and maintain.

Crisis Core, definitely.

I only play Valve games on my PC... and I guess The Sims.

Again I'll side with CC-FFVII-. However, the most I've played of Patapon was some of the first game's demo, which had a weird equipment system that I never figured out to a satisfying extent and the only rhythms I got to using were the march and attack ones (I got another, but I was tired of playing by then (kinda just move-&-kill for then)).

Howev-- um... Anyway, I will admit a smittence with those two beats.

Oh, right, PC games. Never got much into them, so I'll go with the non-edutainment one that I figure might be most known, Trespasser (a Jurassic Park game with rubber arms (though not as neat as any in One Piece)). And, bah, let's throw in Grossology (POO POO PINBAAALL!).

I've played both and I'm voting for Patapon. My little army kept me coming back for more. Crisis Core was too repetitive for me and, to be honest, I'm tired of the FFVII extended universe. I've had enough of Jenova cells and it seems like everyone and their grandmother can grow a wing now.

BC: L4D & Plants vs. Zombies.

Crisis Core. It had a great battle system and a great storyline, patching up a few of the holes from other FFVII series games. Plus Zack is a boss.

Patapon was amusing, but I couldn't get into it.

Crisis Core was awful.

I played it right up until the point where Zack reaches Nibelheim, and was enjoying a nice fangasm over the nostalgia until... Wait! Who's That?

The Villian From Crisis Core who was definitely NOT in Nibelheim?

What's he doing here? Get out of my nostalgia, intruder!

tl;dr patapon wins.

I hate doing this. I really do. I think FF7 and everything associated with it can go fucking die...
... with the exception of Crisis Core. I actually have fun with that game, and thus I become a breathing contradiction while playing it, hating and loving it at the same time. I'll have to give it to that.

As for PC Games... uh, there's <Valve Games> (Seriously, just start tossing random ones in), Dawn of War II, and you can probably throw some MMOs in there. I am apart from my game collection, so that's all I can say for now.

But for PC games I'd like to see in the debate, Plants vs. Zombies and Left 4 Dead.

as much as i love all final fantasy games, patapon truly had something innovative going, while core essentially only slightly improved on old formulas. patapon takes my vote.
