Last week's debate was between the two terrors you see above. Thanks to all those who submitted game debate art -- the two pictures above belong to Dtoiders Hildebrant (left) and MrJunko (right), and I attached the rest of everyone's awesome art below.
So, who did we decide was the biggest and baddest of them all last week? There were hundreds of comments that went back and forth for both sides, with rape pictures of Pyramid Head as support for one side, and videos of Pyramid Head getting owned by a plank as support for the other side. Once the dust settled, the art you see above is a pretty good summary of how the votes turned out. Here are the results:
- Big Daddy: 62 votes
- Pyramid Head: 116 votes -- winner!
This week, in honor of finally getting what we want from Nintendo . . . sorta . . . the debate is based on Super Smash Bros. 64. Instead of arguing over which Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter character was the best, I want to know which Nintendo 64 fighter you thought was the best. Back when we didn't have online console gaming, which one of these classic characters did you use the most to dominate your friends time and time again:
- Captain Falcon, Donkey Kong, Fox, Jigglypuff, Kirby, Link, Luigi, Mario, Ness, Pikachu, Samus, Yoshi
Which is the best fighter, and why? Cast your votes, give us a reason for your decision, get some N64 buddies to give their opinions as well, and check back next week for the winner. Once the 64 bit dispute is settled, we'll quickly move on to Melee and up the ante and voting options.
In before Final Destination.
Pikachu, ftw.
You and the Cap'n make it happen.
Plus, she has the Vegeta Canon, Destroyer of Heroes. Provided you have a good sense of timing.
He could fly to the _moon_
I personally preferred Pikachu even though I felt like Kirby was a better character. So Pika-Pika!
Show Me Your Moves!
Pika-pika-pikachu! Pika-pika-pikachu!
for me, i started playing as Luigi, then remembered skilled jumping was a valuable asset, and jumped to playing as Link for a while, then realized i was a jumping whore, went straight to Kirby, and never looked back. Being able to puff his fat ass so much on the screen means you almost never just "fall off the map" and it means if you ever need to get out of a situation u can just rise above it further than anyone else... then brick it straight down.
and truthfully, the thing i love the most in any smash bros game is the items. keep them on and ill win more than most people, but take them off and i wont win many. my aim is deadly, and since kirby can rise the highest, and slowly floats down, it lets me aim up ridiculous shots across the screen that kill steal all the damn time.
vote = kirby
Kirby was clearly the strongest original smash character
For me, levels matter the most in SSB games -- Melee's levels are the only thing that keeps me coming back to it. So if Brawl's levels are solid I'll play it for a long time, but if they're lousy, I'll go straight back to SSB64.
Me and a friend completely dominated 2 vs 2 with pikachus, once you got struck by a thunder you would get struck again at leas 5 times.
Plus, the cape in Melee really added to his awesome as a character.
Can you shoot lightning into your ass and make it worth your while? Nuff said.
Damn, now I've got to bust it out all over again.
