Game Debate to the Death!<br>Sub-Zero VS Scorpion VS Reptile photo

May 1st! Internet holiday! The MPAA digg-ital riot is finally quieting down -- do not go gentle into that good night! Instead, stay awake and argue over the next Dtoid Game Debate to the Death! Last week I asked everyone to decide between four arms and four legs, and we came to a pretty clear conclusion. Here were the results:

  • Motaro: 23 votes
  • Goro: 59 votes - winner! 

This week it's a three for all, with Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Reptile all battling to be the best assassin. Who is the best, and why? Cast your votes, give us a reason for your decision, get some friends to vote, and check back next week for the winner.

Also, what other Mortal Kombatoid game debate battles should we do? Dtoid reader Rezbit suggested taking a few of the Mortal Kombat characters and facing them off against a few of the Street Fighter characters, and I think that's a great idea. Ryu will definitely be going up against a potential fatality soon, but let's figure out who the Mortal Kombat contenders will be first, before the fight to end all fights begins. So let's hear your suggestions!

I'm going for the coolest character, pun, shamfully, intended: Sub Zero.

There's just something about being able to, ooh I don't know...freeze your enemies before shattering their cold bodies across the room in shards.

Reptile is DEFINITELY a dark horse. That said, I think he'd win, purely because of the fact he can go invisible, spit acid, and do that weird ball thing. How can you hit that which you cannot see?!

And thanks for the name drop Fronz! Only on Dtoid do the plebs get to suggest so much. It's awesome.

This is truly a hard one seeing as all 3 were in the original mortal kombat some were playable others not so much.

Scorpion wears yellow so the competition is over right there. Bonuses to keep Scorpion the victor: Skull head, fire breathing, he fights by HARPOONING people, he's damned or undead or whatever, and need I remind you all of COOKING WITH SCORPION?! Please...the others just don't compare.

the freeze attack lasted longer than the wobbly head you got from the spear and when mortal kombat 3 came out there where so many ways to stun your enemy with sub zero. (ground freeze, reg freeze, sky freeze) and his was the first 8 hit kombo i learned so all and all SUB-ZERO all the way.

Usually I don't get involved in ninja fights, but I'm gonna have to go with Scorpion simply for the fact that the guy is, for all intents and purposes, unkillable. I mean, he gets killed in every game and then manages to come back from hell every time.

Scorpion was my favorite MK character in my youth, and will always be. The fatality where he takes off his mask to reveal a skull for a head and breathes fire on the opponent was the coolest fatality, hands down.

I agree with Ambulance-Y. I prefer pre-MK4 Reptile where he still had the ninja mask. So I'm gonna stick with Reptile.

Well I love subzero... but because he got pwn3d so bad in MK: The movie by a pale of water and Scorpion totally owned that movie and has the most bad ass moves I think I'l go with him. But Reptile is pretty powerful and he's a huge lizard like an Argonian from Oblivion... Yeah I'll just stick with Scorpion... Spear shooting from Hand + Firey Skull head + Bad ass lines = Pwn@g3

In terms of gameplay Reptile the other two especially in UMK3. His invisibility and fast and slow force balls can be spammed at a much higher rate and lead to some extreme damage to the opponent. Reptile was also the best fighter out of all of the ninjas in the first MK movie.

But, in terms of general awesomeness I have to pick Sub-Zero. I mean he is the fucking master of ice and everyone knows blue is much cooler than yellow or green.
