Last week's debate was a nostalgic nightmare that was about as heated as the current Presidential candidate debates. For a week straight we heatedly argued over which was the best multiplayer level for the Nintendo 64 FPS game that devoured many of our childhood Summers. Here I am thinking that the only three GoldenEye 007 level candidates that stood a chance were Facility Clinton, Library Obama, and John McComplex, with a slight Temple Nader possibility on the side. Then I had my childhood destroyed when I found out that only my city was obsessed with the Library, and that I was actually voting for a hopeless Kucinich level. Here are the top results that made me cry and feel violated:
- 1st: Facility (111 votes)
- 2nd: Complex (75 votes)
- 3rd: Temple (40 votes)
- 4th: Stack (21 votes)
- 5th: Bunker (12 votes)
- 6th: Library (7 points)
- 7th: Caverns (6 votes)
I've voted for a losing poll option in plenty of these debates in the past, but I've never been as shocked as I was last week. It's a terrible feeling when one of your favorite levels of all time almost gets beaten by the number of "random level" votes. Those of you who voted for Stack -- are you sure you weren't thinking of the very similar Library level? Nevertheless, it's another week, and time for another ruthless debate.
This week's discussion is over which Super Smash Bros. 64 multiplayer level was your favorite. Keep in mind that this is not a debate about Melee, which will most likely be next week's debate. Which level was your favorite, and why? Give it some serious thought, cast your vote and reasons, get some friends to share their opinions as well, and check back next week for the winner.
Bonus: Since we already had a debate about who our favorite Smash Bros. characters were, let's take a step in a dangerous debate direction. Who will you vote for as the next U.S. president? Please stay civilized though.
The Mushroom Kingdom bonus level was pretty good, too
So my vote is for Obama's Castle for this week.
Bonus: Barack Obama is the only right choice
Also Obama

And for the record, usually these Bonus questions will always be on topic. Since the televised Cleveland Presidential Candidate debate was on tonight in my hometown, I was feeling political.
Obama will probably get my vote...still not sure how things will play out.
You have to be one FUCKED up person to wanna go inside that ancient cave of death but hey whatever perks your pickle right?
hyrule castle is close second
My favorite level was probably Sector Z, for most of the same reasons Aberrant Thought listed. I like the bigger levels, because I typically play the lighter, quicker characters.
I probably won't vote for President, because I'm an awful person. If I do, though, it won't be for a Democrat or a Republican, on the principal that I'm sick of the two party system. Libertarian for the win (unless we're talking about win of a Presidential election).
I still play this game:
Brawl > Smash 64 >>>>>>>>>> Melee
As for the bonus, I live in Canada? Lols?
&
Obama
Let me count the ways:
1. Layout: not as long as the fucking dread that was Sector Z, but longer than most of the shorter levels. It gave you plenty of room to fuck around with people, and enough room to escape pursuit. Plus, the 2 towers (the middle one, and the "barn" to the right) gave you enough hight to pull off sweet moves.
2. The tornado: once that bad boy came on screen, you knew some shit was going down. There was always some sort of mad dash around the tornado; either to get away from it, or get one of your opponents to fall into its grasp. Plus, the 2 seconds of whirling around in that death vortex are the most excruciating seconds in video game history.
3. The left side: Yes, the entire left section. That little slant on the side of the screen was a pivotal area for destroying rivals. Plus, the tornado occasionally turned up there, pretty much fucking up anyone in that spot. Plus, the kid that always spammed kirby's rock drop could be fucked up by the slant and fall to his death if he wasn't quick enough.
Crazy lady is crazy.
Let us reach across the Sector Z/Hyrule Castle aisle, and move onward to a brighter future, for Brawl.
And . . . none. I live in Canada, and I wouldn't feel right picking one since I don't know their platforms. ALthough Obama seems the most personable.
That was the Great Fox level, rite? I always get confused coz' it was Corneria in Melee, and I never played the games a TON.
lol jk
Saffron, or the bonus mario level.
those fucking tube effects were awesome. why isn't every level from the original smash bros. in brawl?!?!!? i want some saffron and hyrule castle
Saffron City followed by Hyrule
Also, I'm voting for Obama. You know you're the wrong candidate for this country when hyper conservative bitch Ann Coulter will vote for you (despite your Democratness) because she doesn't believe McCain is conservative enough and thinks you are.
Ron Paul's my sort of guy, being that I'm libertarian myself, but since his campaign went down the drain (except those zealots who wish to hang on), I'm hoping for a Obama/McCain versus match.
Seriously, I don't care which one of them win, just as long as we bump Hillary out for good.
Brawl's stages are amazing. It's too bad they didn't bring back Great Bay or Saffron City.
Good thing the presidential choice isn't that hard, Obama FTW
And McCain, I'm actually shocked how many of you claim to be voting for Obama. I'm going to assume this is based on just following whatever is trendy and whatnot, and not based on being actively involved of knowledgeable in the whole political scene. McCain deserves more respect than just about anyone in politics today.
Obama.
I'm voting Obama so far
Oh and to Unicorn, don't you ever let me meet you in real life. Now get the fuck off Dtoid.
and of course Obama, and no petrie not because its trendy or whatever, but because i truthfully think he will be good for the country
Its not following a trend if its what the country desperately needs.
Yes, Iraq was a bad idea, but we're there, and pulling out now (like Obama would like) will be disastrous at this point. More lives will be lost by pulling out now than this entire campaign over there has cost.
I'd love to think he'd be good for the country, as generally I always vote Democrat, but Obama scares me. He has all these grand things he claims he will do, but gives no answer as to how he can really accomplish them. Top that off with his inexperience, and I'd really love to know why people are eating him up. Change for the sake of change is never a good idea.
or saffron
or sector z
fuck
