I'm generally not one to sound like a whiny little cunt if i can help it, but this kind of stuff really pisses me off.
This guy has done, in my opinion at least, NOTHING of value, either conceptually, or artistically.
He's taken the art of other artists, and thrown it on a template, and typed out a font.
It's like a game oriented version of a de-motivational poster, only instead of a punch line, he just typed out a title. As an artist myself, it aggravates me to think that my art would be getting attention on some guy I've never met deviant, when he's not even giving credit to artists he's used work from, let alone getting permission.
I understand some artists wouldn't give a shit, and in the end, it's pretty damn harmless, but it's the principle of the thing, just urks the fuck outta me.

@JoeCamNet why don't YOU chill out, Swanny's got a point. Besides, all the Atari 2600 carts I have have like painted action shots, heavily dramatized to give your imagination a spark as to what those ugly pixels might be doing on screen. This is just a bunch of character portraits, it's not really the spirit of Atari, but whatever.
Swanny is right. Some of these are fucking painful copy-paste levels of laziness. Still like a few of them though.
I like the Silent Hill one, but most of em are lame. There's a couple rip off ones and on almost all of them there's a woman just chilling there. bleh

When I took an art appreciation class, the professor argued something very close to this regarding the so-called modern art. Some attribution would be nice in this case, at least.
Someone post the GAF collection to balance this out.

No, none of these remind me of Atari 2600 cartridges. Think more of an action movie poster from yesteryear--a montage of images the play up the highlights of the content.
Is the dude making money with this or something? They all look completely free and the article even points out that its just something different from the nintendo cartridge art everyone else has been hip to.

I'm trying to figure out what watermelon has to do with Dead Island other then some sad stereotypes.. I don't remember a lot of fruits and veggies in that game.
Other then that, yeah, its a really cool concept, just wish the art included was more original to the project.
