Game Boy is now a movie photo

Alert the internets! Disney is making another video game movie. Though it may not be as awesome as Tron, or even as awesome as the Tron level of Kingdom Hearts II, Disney’s newest project “Game Boys” sounds like it has a potential.

Scheduled for release in 2008, Game Boys follows the story of two 30-year-old gamers hired by the Department of Homeland Security to recruit an army of gamers to battle the live monsters created from the video game they have already mastered.

So far only Jerry Bruckheimer has been attached to the project as producer, so we’ll have to wait to see who lands the lead roles of our heroic gamers. Please no Adam Sandler and no friends of Adam Sandler because I refuse to see another "Grandma’s Boy". I could deal with another “The Wizard”, especially if Wii remotes are used.

Look for this movie in the new year to see if it bombs or is just one long advertisment for a new game.

Tron was a great film, but knowing modern Disney Game Boys will be a pile of steaming horse poo.

Game Boys also sounds like a bit of a gay name for a film.

Even the premise sounds a little rediculous.

We can have hope - maybe they'll use the kid from The Wizard movie as a great inside joke.

Bruckheimer as director? I think it should be "producer."

Either way, this movie is going to suck.

PROTIP: Tron has always sucked.

And yeah, they should cast the guy who played Lucas and Fred Savage.

Wasn't the Wizard one long advertisment for Super Mario Bros 3? People seem to enjoy that around here. Anyway hopefully they can make it work, although chances are slim.

I think we should nominate Summa and Greybush for the roles. Although, what peripheral could possibly fill the role of the powerglove in The Wizard? The Wiimote is too normal now. It'd have to be something like the screen in Minority Report.

Hey how bad could it be if Bruckheimer is attached to it? *Rolls Eyes*

Wasn't this already made in 1984 and called "The Last Starfighter?" The only thing different is the setting; "The Last Starfighter" was in space, this is on Earth with monsters.

It's like Jumanji and Zathura, the same exact story, just in a different location.

Ho! The clever space between "game" and "boy" is enough to avoid a lawsuit with nintendo.

Grandma's Boy is funny even if you aren't high. But this movie sounds like the episode of South Park where Kenny gets a PSP and then God kills him so he can command the army of Heaven using the golden PSP.

Grandma's Boy is just GREAT! I remembering deciding to rent it instead of buying it in case it sucked and I regreted not buying it. But I own it now and I took it to a friend's house and NO ONE except for one person wanted to watch it just cause it had "Adam Sandler" association with it but we couldn't find anything else to watch so we put it in and everyone LOVE it (some were high, some weren't) and they all said that they were going to try to stop buy walmart or some store to buy it on the way home...

Grandma's Boy is just GOOD.

BlindsideDork: Yeah grandma's boy is the best movie about
gaming ever!(insert 100 exclamation marks here)

It explains the whole game making process so realistically, it takes one (1!) guy (an excentric genious) locked in a single room with one (1) computer to make an entire game (textures, levels, models, voice acting)! and 100 drunk beta testers getting high to test it! of course! (pounds in his head) how could this answer have elluded me so much time! They must have studied the development process for months to realize that one!

ALSO you can create your very own game using an xbox (1) in your own home! (I have no clue HOW though!) just be careful not to lose your game DVD because is your _only copy_ and if someone takes it they can claim is theirs! is not like you have the source code[i] in your freakin computer or something! that movie [i]permeates reality through its every pore!

Oh yeah, if thats any indication, game boys is not just going to be a stupid excuse for a lame movie with a marketting ploy oh noes, is going redefine cinema as we know it!!
