Today in Tokyo's Akihabara geek district, in front of the massive Akiba Yodobashi department store, several 3DS owners gathered and quietly their new game system with others, Wireless Mode On. Many gamers, myself included, all gathered to exchange Miis through the Street Pass system. If you just got your system, today was a perfect day to wrangle up a bunch of interactions to get Miis for Street Pass Quest warriors and Street Pass Puzzle pieces. So many people were gathered that more showed up to join in the fun with DS and DSi systems.
Several dozen showed up, as you'll see in the above picture. You'll also see that Pikachu showed up. Okay, so Pikachu didn't come to trade Miis. That was another event.
On the Mii trading: So many people were coming in and out of the store front area toward this meeting place that I had to select the renew option in the Mii Plaza application four times in a row. I kept on getting more Miis!
Between Akiba this morning, a lunch with a friend in Roppongi, and a dinner in Ebisu, today was a massive success for gathering puzzle pieces and amassing warriors to fight for me. I have a few almost-full puzzles in Street Pass Puzzle, and I'm going on the seventh dungeon in Street Pass Quest. A couple more weekends like this and Nintendo will have to come up for some new social Street Pass games for Tokyo residents. We'll have beaten them all!
