Say what you will about G4 (and I know you'll say it), but X-Play is a damned fine show. So I'd say it's pretty great news that the show will be expanding this December, according to G4 president Neal Tiles.
"I'm excited to announce that X-Play will expand to one full hour each weekend night for month of December," he wrote in a recent online Q&A, "as we take a look at all the holiday releases and look forward to 2009 titles."
He continues to say that the expanded show will be a test, and if the show experiences growth, may become permanent moving in to 2009. G4 currently airs new half-hour episodes daily.
Personally, I've always been a fan of the show, which may or may not be one of the last surviving pieces of G4 programming that truly gets videogames. Now, what's up with G4 going high-definition? There's a ball, Comcast ... get on it. I know high-definition videogame footage would make me want to watch a show more; what about you guys?
