Futuremark announces Unstoppable Gorg

8:40 AM on 07.19.2011

Futuremark Games Studio teased three games back in May and after the iOS game Hungribles completely passed under my radar, it has now announced Unstoppable Gorg.

Developed by Headup Games, the downloadable title will have you defend our solar system from an alien spieces called the Gorg using satellites around the orbit of planets, moons, and space stations in a form of tower defense. While normally a tower defense game means you build something stationary that "pew-pew" or "woosh" or even "bzap", this time around you'll be able to move the orbital defense satellites where they are best suited after placing them.

Combined with the '40s and '50s science fiction style, it could be fun enough for the right price and the right amount of comedy. There's a mention of fully 3D graphics, but so far it looks like it will use a 2D plane in space. Unstoppable Gorg is coming to PC, Xbox Live Arcade and iPad.
