Future Saints Row titles would likely go in new direction

Saints Row IV is ridiculous. That much has been made clear since day one, from the Saints taking the White House to aliens, superpowers, and Keith David starring as himself. It's the next logical extension after The Third, if such a thing is even possible when talking about the series.

Design director Scott Phillips told Gamereactor that, should the franchise continue after IV -- and that seems entirely possible, at this rate -- we're in for something different.

"We're definitely considering Saints Row IV sort of the end of that saga of this character and the Saints as they are," he explained. "So if there's any more future Saints Rows -- which you know we always hope there will be, we hope there's fans for future games like that -- they will probably continue in a different direction."

For as much as I like the current direction, I know that sentiment isn't shared by everyone. Where are you hoping the series goes from here?

California is not an island, but here are my Dead Island 2 impressions

You'll be able to explore Los Angeles, Santa Monica, some beaches, a golf course, and maybe even more in the final version of Dead Island 2. But what Deep Silver was showing at gamescom 2014 was pretty limited. I only got to run around a small, closed-off section of the Los Angeles suburbs. It was a short taste of what the Southern California zombie-slaughtering life is like. more
