Funcom layoffs cause The Secret World to be delayed photo

The concept art up there? That's for an MMO.

To be more specific, the art is for Funcom's The Secret World, which mashes together the real world with all sorts of weird and cool subject matter. It's the sort of setting we rarely see in videogames, especially MMOs. Apologies in advance if I've built the game up for you too much, because it's been delayed.

Hm, Age of Conan must be dragging them down. I hope The Secret World is still in tact by next year. Looking forward to playing that one.

I don't even like MMOs, but I've been really excited about this title. Funcom always brings great style and smart writing, whether or not their ideas always pan out.
Ah, well. Good luck to them, and here's hoping they get their situation sorted out.

Awe nuts. I am BEYOND excited for this. My friend and I are salivating like crazy and I've never even played an MMO before. Sad news. Does anyone have an idea when this is supposed to come out?

Very Cadillacs & Dinosaurs. I dig the art, but not the type of game.

Shame, the art direction and CG work for the trailer looked pretty special.

This sucks for my friend that just got hired and moved out there only to work for a week before being laid off.
