We have all been desperately waiting for it; seeing more of The Last Guardian is pretty much something that everyone in gaming, around gaming and kind-of-near gaming wants to do. But we were disappointed by its no show at E3 and there was no confirmed hope on the horizon. Consider hope confirmed.
Now Fumito Ueda has tweeted that he will be showing something at the Tokyo Game Show this year. In response to a question over Twitter as to whether he was the real Ueda (please stand up) he said: "Yes, it's me. Thank you for the support. We should be able to show something at Tokyo Game Show, so look forward to it."
Now he could simply be talking about the killer new pair of shoes he just bought and is really looking forward to showing off at TGS, this is Twitter after all, but the more likely scenario is that we are actually going to see more of The Last Guardian this year. I doubt he's been working on any other game, and there was that interesting hint that Sony's Ron Eagle made at E3.
TGS starts September 16 and Destructoid will be all over bringing you the news.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Team Ico is owned by Sony so no luck there.
(you could be having a dig though, I'm not sure!)
I still prefer my 360 (OMG ELEC U FANBOY WS:KOWRJ:KJSDFL:JK) most of the time but it's surprisingly nice having the option on multi-plat titles.
It would be nice if they explained core concepts behind the new game but left it a semi unknown story line until it comes out. These kinds of games you need that mystery to unravel when you play it.
Uhh, how about you buy a PS3?
I saw about at least 50 ICO and 60 Shadow of the Colossus in Ebay for much more reasonable price.Wanna play it get that.Jeez.
Last Guardian can't wait.
ICO and Shadow were pure brilliance.
but ico on ps2 was something like 240p, and wont display throught component cables on ps2. would be nice if i didnt have to change my setup back to composite every time i wanted to play it
Hello, irony!
Not everyone wants to pay out the ass for old, non-HD copies of SOTC & Ico, which don't look great on HDTVs. Also, not everyone has a PS2 or a backwards compatible PS3. So get off your high horse already. And if "everywhere [you] go about Team ICO" didn't have discussions about Ico & SOTC, I'd be confused, since Team ICO has only made those 2 games thus far.
Moron.
SOTC looked terrible on my HDTV, so I had to find an old SDTV to play the PS2 on. HD visuals would be great for these classics, which is why myself and many others would cherish an HD collection.
I'd love to....if my PS2 hadn't died many years earlier. I'm sure it's the case with alot of people hence why there's a demand for a HD collection.
Not that this game doesn't look great. It totally does.
