Full track list for Guitar Hero: Metallica revealed photo

It seems that Metallica likes to take charge of promoting products with their name on it. Just over a month ago, they unveiled the debut trailer for Guitar Hero: Metallica on their own site, and last week, they confirmed rumors of the game’s March 29th North American release date on PS3 and 360. And yesterday, after a listing for the game on the ESRB’s Web site let some songs slip, they went ahead and posted the entire set list themselves. You can find it after the jump, including all the non-Metallica songs.

It looks pretty damn good -- almost all of the band’s classic tracks are on there, including such head-banging hits as “Master of Puppets,” “Battery,” and “Sad But True,” alongside some (initially) softer songs like “Fade To Black,” “Nothing Else Matters,” and “One” (the latter song also appeared in Guitar Hero III). Hell, I’m actually considering buying it, even though I know I’d be forced to play on Hard instead of Expert (which is what I usually play on) if I want to get past the beginning of the game.

Remember: if you already bought Metallica’s newest album, Death Magnetic, as Guitar Hero III or Guitar Hero World Tour DLC on PS3 or 360, those ten songs will be playable in GH: Metallica. Since DLC wasn’t an option on the Wii or PS2, those two versions of GH: Metallica will come with three tracks from the album: “Broken, Beat & Scarred,” “Cyanide,” and “My Apocalypse.”

Guitar Hero: Metallica will be out on March 29th in North America for the PS3 and 360; the Wii and PS2 versions will come later in the spring (as of now, Metallica is suggesting an early May release for those platforms). The game is expected to be released around the same time outside of North America. Don’t forget -- if you pre-order GH: Metallica at GameStop, you’ll get a second bass pedal for free, which brave souls can use for the game’s Expert+ difficulty.

[Thanks, power-glove!]

As long as they have Fade to Black I'm happy. It might make me actually play a Guitar Hero/Rock Band iteration again.

On a side note, how many games is "Ace of Spades" going to be featured in besides Guitar Hero, again?

fffffffffffffffffffff

I love Metallica, but I really don't care for Guitar Hero's style. Guess I've got a choice to make.

@atastysammich: Wikipedia says...

"The Mook, the Chef, the Wife and Her Homer" is the season premiere of The Simpsons’ eighteenth season and first aired September 10, 2006.

Is it bad for me to be more excited for Alice in Chain's "No Excuses" than any of Metallica's music?

@Exquisitor

ABSOLUTELY NOT. God I love Alice in Chains. We need something substantial to make up for "Them Bones".

This is going to be so awesome. But honestly, Motorhead has many other fantastic songs. Is "Ace of Spades" necessary AGAIN?

Kind of interesting they put the original Turn the Page on but not the cover.

That's a big fat PASS for me, although some of those non-Metallica songs are pretty decent.

@Magnalon: Rock Band 2 had "Man in the Box".

@Wedge: "Turn The Page" is awesome!

And SOLD to the man with the Devil Horns.

That is a most attractive track listing. I think it's about the closest to what I want that I'm going to get, so I'll take it!

I haven't really looked into this at all. Is it going to be strictly guitar? Guitar Hero: World Tour kinda kills my ability to decipher any of their products in terms of allowable instruments...and I'm currently working on drums. If there are drums and the game is compatible with Rock Band's instrument sets, I'll probably pick this up at some point. There's quite a few songs there I *REALLY* wanted as RB2 DLC.

@ NegFactor:
The game is full band and supports the RockBand Drums although you might have some problems with the RockBand Drums on Expert++....which includes double-bass.

After doing so well with releasing the lower-spec versions of the Guitar Hero games day and date with their HD brethren, why is it now that Activision is pushing the PS2 and Wii versions to the rear? It would make sense if those two weren't big money-makers, but Aerosmith and World Tour performed best on those platforms. Well, the Wii I'm sure about, but the PS2 could either have second- or third-place honors. I'm leaning towards the former since Rock Band on the PS2 performs second only to the Wii.

I'll pass on this. Metallica has been terrible much longer than they were good. Listening to anything they made after "Justice" just makes me angry that they're not good anymore. And yes, Black Album is terrible.

I like the early Metallica (Which Featured some music from Megadeth's Dave Mustane.) But I'm still not playing this crap game. I've learned a few of these songs on my REAL guitar. That's all I need. When I turn my system on I want to do things that I cannot do in real life... And playing the guitar and drums is not one of them. It's something that I actually do in real life, and making a game of that is honestly.. Atrocious. Grab a real guitar and play some real music people.
Looks like "Death magnetic" didn't have the sales that they expected.. so they went this route. I'm just worried that Slayer might start doing something like this.. and that scares me... Their music should be in a driving game, an action/horror game.. not fucking guitar hero.. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! (And yes I know "Angel of Death" was in GTA:VC)

Corrosion Of Conformity, Social Distortion, and Suicidal Tendencies.

Finally, some Hardcore Punk in a Guitar Hero game. This'll be worth it just to see those tracks in the game.

I'll probably pick it up when it's $20 or $30. I like most of the songs, but they will probably be too difficult to play so it won't be any fun.
