More than a month prior to its release, Activision has revealed the full setlist for its upcoming mult-instrument title, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.

The 90-plus song soundtrack falls squarely into the rock category, with an emphasis on various styles metal. Previous games attempted to be more well-rounded (Guitar Hero 5 featured a Stevie Wonder song, for instance), but developer Neversoft knows who's buttering its bread: folks you want to play DragonForce and Slipknot songs.

Really, it's an impressive collection they've dumped on the disc, ranging from Slayer to Soundgarden, The Dillinger Escape Plan to Fall Out Boy, Black Sabbath to Queen. Also, I hope you like Dave Mustaine; the game features not one or two Megadeth songs, but three. This included a track, "Sudden Death," written by Mustaine just for Warriors of Rock.

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is out September 28.

I thought Fall out Boy was The Fall of Troy and I got excited then I read it again and got disappointed.

2112 counts as seven songs, this better mean that we can play each part separately.

Anyway, this is obviously the second-best song on the setlist. Modern Day Cowboy is still the best.

I'm no longer hyped about guitar hero. DJ Hero was much fresher and the song were unique. But I'm also not sold on rock band pro mode til I get some opinion when it releases. The money their gonna want for RB3 bundle is gonna be too much for an unproven game mode. Have 2 wait and see

Mmm...tasty.

Even Nickelback can't ruin this setlist for me.

Well, not until I saw Occams post that is. Jesus Occams. I'm about to eat brunch.

Strung Out - "Calling" - AWESOME. Strung Out are in my top 3 and possibly top 2 favorite bands. I liked how Rock Band had DLC from other bands I liked but this is even cooler - being included right off the bat.

Not going to get the game though because I'm burnt out on the music game genre...

Eh, don't really care about Guitar Hero anymore, most of these songs will end up on RB sometime anyways. *Crosses fingers for more NIN and MCR* ...Yes, I like their early stuff.

That appears to be a juicier set list than previous GH titles if I'm not mistaken. Any word yet if there'll be hidden songs to unlock?

@fozzyozzy
There is a setlist with a batch of super sdifficult songs that you need to unlock. They're not just given to you. In order to do that you need to beat the tier before it which is also super difficult.

So yeah. There's a batch of unlockable songs if ultra mega difficulty is your thing.

I just now noticed... why is the one Ramones song the theme from Spider-Man? Ugh... The only things I saw worth playing are "Seven Nation Army", "Feels Like the First Time", and "Wish".

Wow, they are the first to include Dillinger Escape Plan, and they choose that song? Phew, I can safely close my wallet and go back to waiting for them to appear in Rock Band.

I do see this setlist appealing to a good amount of people who would typically play Guitar Hero games. There's just enough mainstream rock to attract the casual buyer as well. I scrolled down the list with only fleeting interest, until my eyes set upon 2112. And then I exploded in my pants.

Not really, but assuredly a rental to play the full 2112 suite at least.

Why do they still put shitty/overused/overrated metal bands on GH/RB?

I am liking that Anberlin has a spot on the retail track list.

Goddammit Activision, as soon as I decide to get RB3 instead, you have to complicate everything. APC, ZZ Top, Megadeth, Rush, Styx, Slayer, The Offspring, and Dire Straits all look awesome, but I know that comprises only about 30% of the songs that I'll play regularly and enjoy out of the setlist, and Rock Band will probably have them up for download sooner or later anyways. :(

For everyone whining about Nickleback and Fallout Boy, it's called mainstream rock and they put it on there for a reason. If the developers crawled up their own ass with lots of weird eclectic shit it may please a handful of indie hipsters, but in order to move copies they've got to appeal to the broadest base possible. They may not be my favorites, but I understand why they're in there. And personally, I'm more excited about the GH track list than I am about the RB3 songs they've announced so far. Slayer? The Cure? Rammstein? Megadeth? Nine Inch Nails? Pantera? Perfect Circle? Fuck yeah!

I'm still not impressed. But I think this will have the most songs on it that I would play frequently aside from GH:M.

Plenty of good stuff, but when I saw

Twisted Sister: We're Not Gonna Take It

that right there might push this into must-have territory for me. I don't know what it is about that song, some weird nostalgia I guess, but I've looked for it in setlists ever since I bought a PS2 so I could OWN Guitar Hero that my friend had shown me.
