Full fledged Oblivion expansion, Shivering Isles, coming soon? photo

Bethesda Softworks hates me and doesn't care about whether or not I've finished Oblivion yet. It seems they'll be making it completely impossible now, with the release of a full-on expansion pack, entitled Shivering Isles

Finnish gaming magazine Pelit is reporting that Bethesda has confirmed the expansion, but reveals no details or release date.

While I can't vouch for Pelit (although it is one of the biggest Finnish gaming magazines), I can say that this news is not surprising or unbelievable. Rumors of a full expansion appear in the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine. Additionally, it appears that ZeniMax Media (owner of Besthesda Softworks, LLC) has had the "Shivering Isles" name trademarked with the United States Patent and Trademark office since August of this year.

What I don't believe, however, is that "julkaisuajankohta" is a word. There's just no way.

This is friggin' awesome news. I wonder how Xbox 360 owners are going to be able to play it. Are they going to have to wait for a GOTY edition like Morrowind on Xbox?

I say this because I'm assuming it's too big for Xbox Live.

But it might not be.

Finland, Finland, Finland,
The country where I quite want to be,
Your mountains so lofty,
Your treetops so tall.
Finland, Finland, Finland.
Finland has it all.

I'm saddened that marketing did not pursue the original pack name, which was Frozen Cocks

I wonder if the Expansion will come in a box, or whether it'll be up for download on Live, just like those two expansion packs for GTAIV Peter Moore talked about back at E3.

*Sigh* I haven't finished the main game yet, or started on most of the DLC I've already downloaded, and haven't even downloaded Knights of the Nine yet, and now this. DAMN YOU BETHESDA!!!

Then again, I haven't actually played Oblivion at all since... oh... August or so.

Shivering Isle...I hope they go in the same direction they went with for Bloodmoon. Solstheim was freakin awesome and I've been waiting for news on the expansion for a while :3...Werewolves for life!

Actually 'julkaisuajankohta' is three combined words. The word 'julkaisu' means release, the word 'ajan' means time's or date's and 'kohta' means point or spot. And that word is not even very long compound. According to Guinnes World Records the longest (and still in use) Finnish word is: 'lentokonesuihkuturbiinimoottoriapumekaanikkoaliupseerioppilas'.
