Full DJ Hero set list revealed, includes 93 mixes photo

The full DJ Hero set list has been revealed, and it's a really, really long list of music.

Of course, they're all mixes -- or mashups -- of songs. 93 mixes to be exact, with the total number of individual songs closer to 100, all master recordings. You might not recognize some of them right away because of how they're cut, but there's music from Marvin Gaye, David Bowie, Gwen Stefani, Bell Biv DeVoe, Cypress Hill, Billy Squier, and more on this thing. So no matter how you cut it, it's a hell of a lot of music.

DJ Hero hits stores on October 27, so start making room on your coffee table for another peripheral.

Well Cypress Hill is gross and that Beasite Boys vs. Foo Fighters mash up is god awful from what I've heard but the rest ranges from awesome to decent. I'm just curious how the game will do with so many tracks repeating but with different other halves. Hmm...

Anyway I'm sold. Even though (A) they didn't deliver on the Motorhead vs. Rhiana and (B) there's no Amy Winehouse or New Young Pony Club.

It's too bad the music on this game is so popular. It's a pretty stupid idea IMO. Not in a marketing sense, in a gaming sense. They'll make a lot of money but they'll do it in a stupid ass way.

The GiantBombCast this week sold me on DJ Hero. Solid track list for me (Feel Good Inc and Insane in the Brain are DJ must haves, imo) and the controller makes a lot more sense now that i've heard some more hands on reviews and watched a few videos.

Good times!

Don't be haters...I wish Linus Loves, Boyz Noize, The Polish Ambassador and a whole bunch of other shit were on here, but I can't say I'm completely unsatisfied with what they've included. Any word on what the DLC situation will be with this thing?

Although the song list is amazing, the mash-ups sound like the dumbest things ever.
Paper Planes vs. Eric B. is President?
Izzo (H.O.V.A.) vs. My Name Is?

I`ll wait for Scratch The Ultimate DJ.

That's a pretty solid list. It could use more Afrika Bambaataa, but that's true of everything in life.

If you guys didn't already know, a majority of Best Buy stores should have the 3 song demo up and running. I played it yesterday and... wow, Medium kicked my ass. The crossfader's difficult to use due to the "notch" keeping it in the middle being kind of weak. Regardless, it was still a lot of fun.

What's the point in releasing this? It's not going to sound anything like you imagine it will. Let us listen to small bits of each mix Activision.

Some nice stuff in there, but this one might be a harder sell. Few people listen to such mash up of tunes, but if youo walk down the street and mention the Beatles or Queen, and people know what you are talking about.

Some will love this, but I'm still on the bench. Certain tracks on their own are cool, but mashing them with other stuff dilutes the feel a track gives you. Even when I go in a club, I hate it when DJ's mess with just playing a track straight out uninterrupted. I think I'll pass on this, and I don't think it will be as popular and GH/Rockband.

-Needs a lot more old school if they want the hip hop community to really get into this
-more Cypress Hill or like other west coast rappers
-i think they need more gangsta rap (more explicit lyrics)
-why no Dr. DRE!!!???
-overall very disappointed in the tracks for this game, i love hip hop and this ain't it (Gwen Stefani!!! like seriously :|)

This is as I feared...this entire playlist nearly ignores the house genre and specifically ignores the urban/underground variants of it.

And why mashups? If this is about being a DJ, then let the people beatmatch....

This has FAIL written all over it.

There sure are quite a few tracks being used in multiple mashups. This gives me pause.

At $120, I would rather wait for the inevitable DJ Hero 2 and - in the meantime - pick up the peripheral for far less than MSRP (<3 CAG).

93 is a great number of mixes, but it seems a bit low considering how many are possible with 100 different songs. 5,050 possible mixes, or so. So only 2% of the total possible.
