I want this to be good... but the distinct lack of what sounds like Ace Combat is concerning to me as a fan.
I agree with UltorOscariot.
Would be stoked if this seemed more like the Ace Combat games I've loved over the years.
That said, gotta have the Su-35 and Su-47.

I also have to agree with UltorOscariot. This just isn't seeming like the Ace Combat games that I fell in love with but I'm still withholding judgement and I'll still most likely pick it up. Even though I'm still pissed about the unnecessary transition into the real world from the excellent universe Namco created.
That being said, gotta love the F-22A Raptor. Man, that is just a sexy aircraft.

I can take down just about anything with the F-22 Raptor.
Really, what this seems like to me is a little blending of traditional Ace Combat with the airborne missions of Call of Duty. And I'm kind of okay with that. Let me be gunner of an AC-130 again? Sure, I loved that. Apache mission? Okay. I just hope that, like CoD, those are sort of one-off missions, to add a little variety to the game. I think I'd be agreeable to that.
My only concern, and it is deep, is that the jet combat will completely lose the feel of Ace Combat. I bought Fires of Liberation on day one. For this one, I'll wait a good little bit and read a multitude of reviews first.

I get that a lot of people love the F-22, but I just don't see the sexy in that aircraft. I was one of those kids who loved fighter jets the way most kids love construction equipment, so I've been ogling airplanes for a long, long time now. To me, the Raptor is a yawn-factory, it looks like a bad 'futurey' version of an F-15. I respect that it features super-cruising and vectored thrust, and performs well as a detection-mitigating interceptor, but the look just doesn't appeal to me.
Nothing could be more pointless or subjective, but I just thought I'd get it out of my system.
