Nerdcore artist Random is currently touring Japan and taking the time to enjoy the sights and sounds in between gigs. Naturally, he had to check out a Taito Station and share the experience with his fans.
This is pure guerrilla filming, as photography is not allowed in the building. Using a Flip camera, he gives us just a little peek at a couple of the arcade's five floors. There are, of course, the rows upon rows of Bemani machines, but there are also a couple of surprises such as a glimpse of Sonic Blast Heroes, the sequel to the classic punching game Sonic Blast Man. But you will totally sh*t bricks when you see the Dariusburst cabinet. Hooooo-leeeee crap.
As with the video of Super Potato from a few days back, we only get a little taste of the glory before the video ends. I think I'm going to harass Dale constantly until he's forced to take me with him the next time he hits up Japan.

Meet the rest of the team
There is a smaller version of arcade like this in Houston, Tx it's called planet zero and it is awesome. Too bad I've only been to japan in an airport I would have loved to check out these super arcades.
Although they are pretty cool. And I especially love the huge gundam machines (totally immersive). A lot of the arcades in Japan are just sad... Rows upon rows of people gambling. The worst of which being the fake horse races, and people gambling on fake horses.
I love the DJ game near the beginning. I don't know why, but it's super addicting. I've always been glad I got to try to Metal Gear Solid arcade machine.
They've got the Dariusburst cab in the arcade on tottenham court road in London. It's pretty damn tits (though still not as cool as the Strikers 1945 Plus they have downstairs)

In the arcade I work at,the most exciting game we have is Guitar Hero 3...GUITAR FUCKING HERO 3! and everyone just plays fucking "Slow Ride",over and over again, there are no words to describe the rage I feel everytime I hear that song.
I hate my job...
Ive played that Gradius machine a few times. The Sound is incredible, you can feel the bass through every part of you while playing. I much prefer Dodonpachi Black Label though.
Detourneme. Sorry i just don't agree with you on that. Lot's of arcades in my area have plenty of cabinets. There are of course a lot of Pachinko machines too though.

Sucks that so few arcades exist in the US.
