Friday Night Fights: Summer is almost over edition

The summer is a magical time for many people, but not gamers. Only a handful of must-have games come out during this period, and then we get an insane surge of good titles during the next few months.

Not long ago, BahamutZero counted the number of games he'd be buying from August 16 to September 26 and declared: "Let the ramen feast begin!" I wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment.

And let's not forget about October, which is mindblowingly packed with solid releases; we're going to need to start saving up, and fast.

Friday Night Fights should see more community involvement with this onslaught of amazing games, so you had best plan accordingly.

Mini-guide for meeting up with Dtoiders for Super Smash Bros. Brawl or Mario Kart:

The IRC way: head on over to this Web site (or start up your own IRC client) and type "/join #destructoid" without the quotation marks.

The Ventrilo way: download and install Vent, then use the following info to log onto Dtoid's server:

• IP/Hostname: VOICE-VA2.BRANZONE.COM
• Port: 3790
• Password: None

Once you're in, you'll need to use the password "ftw" to access the Social Lounge.

The Xbox 360 way: use Xbox LIVE to chat with people on your friends list. Steam or an IM client will work fine too.
