Who would've guessed it -- the Metal Gear Online beta went live just in time for Friday Night Fights. Talk about timing! I'm excited about it and I don't even own a freakin' PlayStation 3. For those of you who do own a PS3 (and have access to the MGO beta), however, we've got big plans for you tonight. To fully prepare yourselves, I suggest y'all hit up the game ID thread in the forums, then make sure to read the instructions for joining the Dtoid match after the break. As for the rest of us unlucky bastards, there'll still be the usual Friday Night Fights shenanigans that we've come to know and love. Additionally, Pedro ( MGO ID = Pedro) will be hosting tonight. Here's how to join his match: "go to Lobby Select, then Free Battle, then pick EVA for the server, then go to Join Game, and finally find the Destructoid game. The password will be dtoid."  Mini-guide for meeting up with Dtoiders for Super Smash Bros. Brawl:
The IRC way: head on over to this Web site (or start up your own IRC client) and type "/join #dtoid-brawl" without the quotation marks. The Ventrilo way: download and install Vent. Then use the following info to log onto Dtoid's server: • IP/Hostname: VOICE-VA2.BRANZONE.COM
• Port: 3790
• Password: None Once you're in, you'll need to use the password "ftw" to access the Social Lounge. The 360 way: use your Xbox 360 to chat with people on your friends list. Steam or IM are good alternatives too.

You do realize that the part talking about the password is in reference to Pedro's game, right? Because "dtoid" is what was sent to me.
You're probably talking about a completely different match -- unless I'm just terribly ill informed.

I am having a great deal of difficulty getting online with the 360. It has something to do with my lame router. Hopefully, I can get it fixed soon.
I guess the beta is region locked, so much for all that. I may get on and make a Destructoid room if there isn't one, password dtoid.

Yeah, I'm The Gadge, I just checked to see if FM4 Renegade was still on and still in CoD4, and he was so I sent a message.
Yay hosting is FUN! Put me down for next week as well.

Hey guys, getting lag and "connection not stable" in MGO like a mad man. About 8 out of 10 servers give me that error, and lag badly as well if there are more then 5 people. I am NAT type 2, any ideas?
Oh and I never have a problem with WarHawk or PSN.
Donno, but most likely its your connection. Cause I've not had ANY issues so far. Not even a little lag.
