Friday Night Fights: I'm so excited for Rise of the Triad

Welcome to another edition of Dtoid's Friday Night Fights!

We're only three weeks away from the rebirth of Rise of the Triad, and I can't begin to express how giddy I'm getting. I only ever played the shareware release of the original ROTT when it came out back in 1994, but I remember being blown away at the time by the freedom of movement (especially compared to its most popular contemporaries, Wolfenstein 3D and DOOM), more lighthearted tone, inventive weapons and power-ups (including a God Mode that actually made you God), and the level of interaction with the environment. From what I can tell, Interceptor's upcoming HD remake looks to scratch all those same itches in the current gen, and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

What about you guys? Plan on picking up the new ROTT? If so, I'll see you on the FNF battlefield!

Friday Night Fights

New to FNF? Read this! Each week, a bunch of us Dtoiders get together to play videogames online! It's a 100% community-run event, so feel free to join in or even host something yourself!

The planning for FNF starts in the forums, where community members sign up to host matches and post their pertinent details (game, time, Gamertag, etc.). Then, every Friday, reminder posts go up in the community blogs thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers, and I recap it all here on the front page to give it a bit more exposure.

To join in, simply send a friend request to the match host! If you'd rather host something yourself, sound off in the comments section below!
