The Internet has been ablaze with Grand Theft Auto IV "news" this week, and it's driving me absolutely insane. Sure, it was nice hearing tidbits about the game before it was released, but can everyone shut up about it already and just play the damn game?

If any of you share my frustration, I urge you to jump online tonight with the Friday Night Fights crew for some good old-fashioned simulated bloodshed to release all of that stress you've built up during this week.

Oh, and for those of you who can't remember when FNF kicks off, it generally starts at around 10:00 p.m. EST, although it varies for some games (check after the break for more specific times).

Additionally, Pedro (MGO ID = Pedro) will be hosting tonight. Here's how to join his match: "go to Lobby Select, then Free Battle, then pick EVA for the server, then go to Join Game, and finally find the Destructoid game. The password will be dtoid."

Mini-guide for meeting up with Dtoiders for Super Smash Bros. Brawl:

The IRC way: head on over to this Web site (or start up your own IRC client) and type "/join #dtoid-brawl" without the quotation marks.

The Ventrilo way: download and install Vent. Then use the following info to log onto Dtoid's server:

• IP/Hostname: VOICE-VA2.BRANZONE.COM
• Port: 3790
• Password: None

Once you're in, you'll need to use the password "ftw" to access the Social Lounge.

The 360 way: use your Xbox 360 to chat with people on your friends list. Steam or IM are good alternatives too.

@The-Excel: I always do. Seriously. It doesn’t matter if I’m seeing a comic book movie or There Will Be Blood — I always stay through the end credits because I like to see the music they used in the film as well as the locations where they filmed the movie.

I need to play some single player, but I WILL be on. After last week's fiasco at trying to play COD4 while getting massively hammered on jack and coke resulted in me vomiting all over my sister's bathroom, I'm flying clean and sober tonight. Unless someone buys me a drink.

@dvddesign: Jack & Coke? You seem like my kind of guy. Very classy. Also, are you getting FiOS? That’s what I have at home, and on the PC that’s wired to the router, I’ve gotten speeds as high as 26 Mbps down. And even on wireless, it’s still around 10 Mbps. Man, I love FiOS.

FiOS is the shit. I used to have AT&T FiOS, but they capped the connection for users at 6Mb down. I'm moving in June to a place with Verizon and they got 15Mb down guaranteed.

can anyone please tell me how to contact an admin to be upgraded from guest to member? i hardly ever use vent and i got the channel set up fine, but i can't see anyone else and everything i try to enter says "guests not allowed. contact an admin to be upgraded to member"... but i can't see any admins :(

I joined in the EU-FNF and it was the best online experience I've had in years!
