Friday Night Fights: General Knoxx edition photo

Having just beat "The Secret Armory of General Knoxx" last night, I can safely say the third time was definitely the charm as far as add-ons for Borderlands go. The difficulty has been ramped up considerably this time, so any of you loners in the audience might want to think twice about traveling alone.

Otherwise, like me, you will lose the vast amount of hard cash you've saved up from your exploits across Pandora. Having more money in my wallet than Borderlands can display quickly dwindle down to an embarrassingly low rate was not a pleasant sight.

Worse yet, a matter of moments after my Soldier became blatantly poor, the nearby shop had a badass limited edition sniper rifle for the low price of $9,999,999. FFFFFFUUUUU!

New to FNF? Read this: Each week, a bunch of Destructoid readers and usually an editor or two get together to play some videogames online. Basically, this is what Friday Night Fights are all about.

The planning for FNF takes place in the forums, where community members volunteer to host by posting their information (gamertag, time to meet up, game, etc.) in the forum post corresponding to the system they're interested in playing on.

Then, every Friday, reminder posts for those who don't read the forums regularly go up in the community blogs section all thanks to a dedicated group of cool individuals. And for everyone who wants their info all in one place, they have got my weekly recap posts to look forward to between 4:30 - 5:30 PM EST.

Now that you're here, just scan the list below and find a game you want to play. All that's left to do after that is to join the match by contacting the host below using any means necessary. For Wii, you might have to be a little creative, but for 360/PS3 a simple "invite me" message will be fine.

The names on the left are our Destructoid handles, while the ones on the right are our online handles (PSN IDs, for example). Don't see a game you want to play? Feel free to post a comment offering to take up hosting duties yourself.

Sweet, a later time for MW2 fnf? I'm there. It's been a long time since I could do one.

I was level 50 and everything still dominated me and my friend and I. All of my money...gone :(

A lvl 61 midget named meat popsicle jumped out of a fridge right at the start of the DLC for me. My friend and I are level 41, but we managed to kill him after dispensing all our ammo and getting him stuck on a railing somehow. It was awesome.

Ha, that midget killed me too. Scared the crap out of me when he jumped out of that fridge.

I might hop in on some MW2 (360) or CS:S. It's about damn time I get rid of this FNF V-card.

General Knoxx is fucking AWESOME! It's quite a bit harder yeah but not "Hi my name is Moxxi and I'm going to tear you a new one"-hard. I died a considerable amount of times but I won't run out of money soon. The last time I died it cost me around 15 million to get a New Me (or U of course). So I guess I've got enough money to spend on some awesome weapons. But to be honest I don't think anything will be able to replace my current arsenal.

This must be the best DLC ever. Seriously, I can't think of anything better. And all that awesomeness for $10?! Damn.

@Rockvillain
Soldier + unlimited ammo classmod = WIN!

"$9,999,999." same thing happened to me. Loaded up the content, blew my wad buying bank and ammo upgrades, only to see a disgusting SMG for max cash. I mean, who carries that much on them?

You will absolutely be carrying 9,999,999 and then some by the end of Knoxx. The different Lance dudes drop all sorts of sellable goodies, and when you actually get to the armory... jackpot. I'm at the point where my money ticker is all 9's and when I die, it doesn't change at all because I have too much cash.

Granted, this was with my Hunter, who had the loot boost for his Bloodwing maxed out to the point that things looked like a sea of pee after a sizable battle, so results may vary.

Due to unforseen family problems, I wont be able to get a group going for AVP FNF anymore. Sorry.

Hmm...I My entire inventory is full of medical kits (barring one slot), seeing as i only actually use one gun in this game (some rare shotgun i found).

It seems like Borderlands tracks what guns you use the most and does not drop them for you. I have plenty of revolvers, sniper rifles, and rocket launchers. All I want is a nice SMG for my Siren, it would really make things so much easier for me in this DLC

Yeah, that little son-of-a-bitch (meat puppet) scared the shit out of me too...I finally killed him (playing solo, Lvl 50 soldier) after about 10 minutes of constant gun fire he went down.

also...Damn those Probes!

Yeah, I wish I could find another SMG...still using my Hellfire that I got at like level 34 or something...still kicks much ass.
