Friday Night Fights: Cheapskates and XP whores, unite! edition

With the Variety Map Pack for Call of Duty 4 now being sold at half price and Xbox 360 owners getting yet another Double XP weekend (PS3 love coming next weekend), I think now is as good of time as any to jump back into the game.

So, you've played Zombies and Michael Myers before? Excellent. But have you played those game types with a full room of Dtoiders? If the answer is no, then you owe it to yourself to show up for this week's Friday Night Fights. The amount of fun that's going to be had is simply indescribable.

If by some misfortune CoD 4 isn't you cup of tea, there's always Castle Crashers, Tekken 5, Warhawk, or Team Fortress 2. Hell, anything is suitable so long as it's playable online; just throw out your online tag in the comments and ask for people to join you in whatever game you're interested in playing.

Mini-guide for meeting up with Dtoiders for Super Smash Bros. Brawl or Mario Kart:

The IRC way: head on over to this Web site (or start up your own IRC client) and type "/join #destructoid" without the quotation marks.

The Ventrilo way: download and install Vent, then use the following info to log onto Dtoid's server:

• IP/Hostname: VOICE-VA2.BRANZONE.COM
• Port: 3790
• Password: None

Once you're in, you'll need to use the password "ftw" to access the Social Lounge.

The Xbox 360 way: use Xbox LIVE to chat with people on your friends list. Steam or an IM client will work fine too.
