Now that Magrunner: Dark Pulse has a full website, developer 3 AM Games has unleashed a handful of new screenshots. The one above immediately caught me eye; for the sake of context, this is a first-person puzzler set in "a cyberpunk reimagining of H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos." In other words, not the type of game we frequently see go into full production.

The core gameplay hook revolves around a device that lets you manipulate objects to either repel or attract other objects, hence the reds and greens in the environment. Magrunner is headed to PC, as one would expect, but it's also being published by Focus Home Interactive on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

Review: Magrunner: Dark Pulse

Unless I've missed most of them, there hasn't exactly been a glut of first-person puzzlers post Portal. Here to help fill that niche is Magrunner: Dark Pulse, a colorful puzzler mechanically centered around magnetism and narr...more

Magrunner is like spooky Portal with Cthulhu, out now

Well, I'm sold. Magrunner: Dark Pulse looks great if this trailer is any proper indication. I'm in love with the starkly clashing, almost manic aesthetic that smacks of colorful imagination straight out of the PS2 era. Our ow...more

Magrunner: Dark Pulse looks really darn cool

Magrunner: Dark Pulse is a game that you may brush off as a Portal imitator at first - but I urge you not to do so. After playing through some levels on the E3 show floor, Magrunner has caught my attention not just with its delightful puzzle-solving mechanics but through the world and story itself.more

This trailer offers a much better look at Magrunner

Magrunner: Dark Pulse would appear decent enough if it were merely another first-person puzzle game set in a glorified maze of obstacles to maneuver around, but that's not what it is. Well, it seems to starts out that w...more

A head in the poles: Project Totem is platforming fun

Press Play proved it can make a platformer with Max and the Curse of Brotherhood, but it wasn't meant to test your muscle memory and invite speed running. It was a colorful adventure with some charm and plenty of stopping for...more

Ahead of PAX East, Robot Entertainment has announced Orcs Must Die! Unchained and it sounds like the next logical step for the series. Players will control the forces on both sides, meaning you'll have to attack the other te...more

Atlus picks up EarthBound-inspired Citizens of Earth

It's been said before that a "failed" Kickstarter isn't the end -- that every dollar matters even if the total amount raised ultimately falls short. That's true for Eden Industries' Citizens of Earth, a role-playing game whi...more
