3 AM Games brings Lovecraft and cyberpunk together

Now that Magrunner: Dark Pulse has a full website, developer 3 AM Games has unleashed a handful of new screenshots. The one above immediately caught me eye; for the sake of context, this is a first-person puzzler set in "a cyberpunk reimagining of H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos." In other words, not the type of game we frequently see go into full production.

The core gameplay hook revolves around a device that lets you manipulate objects to either repel or attract other objects, hence the reds and greens in the environment. Magrunner is headed to PC, as one would expect, but it's also being published by Focus Home Interactive on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

Unless I've missed most of them, there hasn't exactly been a glut of first-person puzzlers post Portal. Here to help fill that niche is Magrunner: Dark Pulse, a colorful puzzler mechanically centered around magnetism and narr...
Well, I'm sold. Magrunner: Dark Pulse looks great if this trailer is any proper indication. I'm in love with the starkly clashing, almost manic aesthetic that smacks of colorful imagination straight out of the PS2 era. Our ow...
Magrunner: Dark Pulse is a game that you may brush off as a Portal imitator at first - but I urge you not to do so. After playing through some levels on the E3 show floor, Magrunner has caught my attention not just with its delightful puzzle-solving mechanics but through the world and story itself.
Magrunner: Dark Pulse would appear decent enough if it were merely another first-person puzzle game set in a glorified maze of obstacles to maneuver around, but that's not what it is. Well, it seems to starts out that w...
