Fresh screens for EA's Medal of Honor reboot photo

So, Medal of Honor is going modern, and here's what it looks like. A modest collection of new screens for EA's series reboot has hit the Internet today, featuring tanks, beards, guns, and all the shades of brown that a current-gen game needs.

Medal of Honor has never really been able to stand up to Call of Duty, but Electronic Arts is definitely hoping to give the series an edge with this new title. Whether it succeeds remains to be seen, though we can tell you it's going to have to do a lot more than wear Modern Warfare's clothes in order to beat Modern Warfare. I hope it does well, because now that Activision has seized total control over Infinity Ward and looks set to whore out the Call of Duty franchise, we could very much do with a worthy challenger to the FPS throne.

I'm pretty pumped for this. The original Medal of Honor games were amazing, and while the graphics don't look as photorealistic as Modern Warfare 2 or Bad Company 2, the modern reboot has got me genitals moist.

It could beat Call of Duty if it had a complete campaign mode with a satisfying beginning and end.

I only gave it a glance before I almost bypassed it, but that did look like a photo to me for a sec. It's exact tactics for a breach and clear, one guy breaks the door guy on the right throws something in (nade, flash whatever) left guy clears the room. Didn't even think about it looked legit for a second till I looked at the title and took a closer look.

It's sad to me to see them make such a blatant copy, but with DICE on the multiplayer and me liking these kinds of games I will still buy it.

Spearhead is still my favotire MoH game.

Is this actually a continuity reboot or are you just calling it a 'reboot' because the word is convenient?

Must see gameplay before I make a judgment on it, both single player and multiplayer.

@Sir playedallot

You're right, the first MoH was released in 1999, and the first CoD wasn't released until 2003.

That said, I'm not sure if either game or series can be said to "copy" the other any more than any other "realistic" FPS, but there you go.

Mw2 can be fun. Bc2 is excellent. I prefer dice to infinity ward so I am interested in this:)

IW was founded by people who developed the first MoH games. Would be ironic if they come full circle and started doing MoH again :D

@ sir playedallot

Well, CoD certainly copied MoH: Allied Assault, but then the CoD team were made up mostly of veterans from that game, so they copied themselves if so. Not the same really.

Plus CoD went modern first, and now MoH is copying that.

Lastly, it's not just going modern that is a copy, there are lots of modern shooters I wouldn't call copies of CoD, but the tone and style of these pics and the original video are extremely similar to MW in tone, feel and look.

Medal Of Honor has always stood up well in the gameplay and controls, the problem in the last few games were overall graphics quality, level design and weak AI.
Fingers crossed, I have more faith this is going to come out really good. This is the first game since Infinity Ward left the Medal Of Honor series to form Infinity where it feels like a real effort and good team of developers are in place.
Ever since losing the Infinity guys, series seemed to be coasting. But I know this: All they have to do is not have akimbo with their weapons in multi and I'm sold. It already looks freakin' good even this early.

its funny that now the console crowd has played a real tactical fps in bfbc:2 they are moving farther away from the beloved COD:6...

...should have been playing bf2 and 2142 the whole tome for this experience.
