One of the coolest things about Minecraft has to be the amount of creativity the game encourages, and there have been some great fan-made additions. So here is another one, possibly the best one. Someone modded Minecraft to add Pokemon. Watch the video and be amazed by the Pokemob mod.
I never got into Minecraft, I'm still not totally convinced it is as much the bees knees as everyone says, but I would be willing to buy it so I could run around collecting pokemon, making pokeballs and fighting Team Rocket. Not all features have been implemented yet, but right now there are three pokemon that you can catch as well as the ability to make a pokedex.
I must admit, I would be more fond of Minecraft mods if watching the game in motion didn't make me physically ill.
It falls into the same issue I had with Wolfenstein 3D and Doom, with the camera movement in low res 3D. (And similar to the issue I had with Quake, with its low poly models and color choice. And strangely, The Conduit.) I become ill within minutes with Minecraft, whether playing, watching someone else play, or even watching a YouTube video. I made it only halfway through the Pokemob video.
Baines: If you don't like it there are a gazillion texture packs available that completely change the look of the game. Alternatively there are hi-res versions of the vanilla texture pack; in varying resolutions. All you do is drag the pack in to a folder, and you can select it from a menu. Simple!
Oishidesu: Minecraft is not free. I think it's like 15 Euros, which is aroouund 20 US. And despite the games low-res graphics, it still requires a HEAP of ram and processing power. You'll need at least 2GB of ram and 2ghz CPU to run it at a playable framerate.
You know what's so cool about this video? The Poke-critters are actually walking about, which makes this 3 minutes of footage 3x as immersive than the past five Pokemon games.
Buy what DLC? If GameFreak saw this being sold anywhere, you better believe the FIST OF THE NORTH STAR would be executing sweet justice on the dev's face in form of a cease & desist or lawsuit.
That's actually awesome, lots of potential there. I couldn't finish the video though, whoever made it is obviously super embarrassed that he enjoys pokemon and it ruined the vid for me

As for why Gen 1 was remade, WHY WAS GEN 1 REMADE??!!

@Samboni10: If this gets popular couldn't that rouse the ire of Nintendo?
