In addition to "Case West" for Dead Rising 2, your beloved Frank West will also be playable in an iPhone version of Dead Rising. It's set to come out in time for the holidays and will take us back to the Willamette mall -- only, the story won't be exactly how we remember it.

The game will have some neat social networking integration, in that you can put out a distress call to your friends upon dying. What's more, you can even turn into a zombie and enter your friends' games, although you won't have direct control over your undead self, sadly.

I'll be interested to see how the time-centric nature of Dead Rising works on a handheld device. Usually when you play these games, you're doing so for a decent chunk of time, not in short bursts. Consider me intrigued, if nothing else.
