Fragile confirmed for UK release, also gorgeous new screens photo

There are few games coming out this year that I am more excited for than I am for Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon. European gamers will be delighted to hear that it's now coming their way too, as it was officially announced this morning that Rising Star Games will publish it in that territory. If they sound familiar to you, that's because they are also publishing Little King's Story and Ju-On: The Grudge for the UK, two other games that I also want pretty darn badly.

You can expect to see Fragile out in the UK in the first quarter of 2010, which is a bit later than the US release, but luckily they shouldn't be more than a few months apart. To make the wait easier, go listen to samples from the soundtrack here, which is easily one of my favorite scores of the year so far.

And just think, I haven't even touched the game itself yet!

BREAKING NEWS: RISING STAR GAMES ANNOUNCES FRAGILE FOR EUROPE
Rising Star Games Confirms Release of Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon in PAL Territories
29th June 2009 – Rising Star Games is pleased to confirm securing the publishing rights for the much anticipated fantasy adventure title. Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon developed by Tri Crescendo, the team responsible for Baten Kaitos and, more recently, Eternal Sonata exclusively for Wii™. Fragile is scheduled for a Q1 2010 release in the PAL territories.
“Fragile has a great team of creative designers who in turn have brought to life a beautiful art style that pushes the limits of the Wii console without compromising on gaming quality” stated Tyrone Walcott product manager at Rising Star Games. “This announcement will delight European gamers and the Otaku community. Rising Star Games has again shown its commitment to bring the best games from Japan.”
For members of Rising Star Games exclusive Hoshi Club, this information was released exclusively 72 hours earlier. “We’re incredibly excited about bringing Fragile to the PAL territories. There’s been a massive upsurge of interest for this title since being showcased in Famitsu (Japan)” explained Simon Alty, Rising Star Games’ Head of Brand. “The feedback from fans in our forums was that this was a title they wanted us to champion and we are very excited to respond to that ‘fan power’ with this announcement.”
Fragile takes place in the near future, in a world that has lost its population. You play as Seto, a young boy searching through the abandoned cities and facilities of this world, trying to learn the truth behind the disappearance of all the people, and to find someone to keep him company. In addition to exploration, Seto has to deal with ghosts who appear in the ruins.
Players will be able to explore a dark and abandoned world with the aid of their Wii Remote™ that functions as a flashlight and as a proximity sensor to hunt down invisible ghosts. The cinematic presentation, joined with an emotional soundtrack, bring the tale of a lonely and lost individual to life as players encounter memorable characters and discover the back story behind scavenged objects that provide insight on people's last days before the apocalypse.

"the team responsible for Baten Kaitos and, more recently, Eternal Sonata exclusively for Wii™.

They forgot a comma. Now I'm convinced that ES is headed to the Wii.

Been following Fragile since it was announced and just cannot wait for it to be released here. My most wanted game for 2009 without a doubt.

Eternal Sonata is too beautiful for the Wii. It would be a real shame if it were to be uglified to run on Wii.

UK release a couple of months after US one?
Them English to English translations are sure getting harder and harder.

I was already sold and waiting patiently on Little Kings Story.
With a little more info about Fragile, I might be for that, too.

An interesting and new title on the Wii that isn't shovel-ware? Color me intrigued, I think I must just purchase this one once it comes out. Then again, I did say that about Mad World awhile back...

Jesus I need to get a new Wii. This game is so beautiful and I wantz it.

And Eternal Sonata on the Wii would be a feat in and of itself, simply because of how fucking beautiful it is.

Considering the trailers almost always bring a tear to my eye, I'm very interested in this one.

@Al3xand3r

Baten Kaitos was by both of them I believe. At least that's what my super fact checking abilities tell me. Of course those abilities did involve Wikipedia so there's a chance they could be wrong.

Also, I wouldn't say they failed with Disaster: Day of Crisis. I thought it was brilliant! It was actually improved by the waggle.

Man I STILL don't know what the hell this game is about. Some dude chases a girl, that's all I know.

You should. It's almost like a really shitty season of 24, but more awesome. The kind of stuff that happens to this guy in one day is unbelievable. Literally. Earthquake, tsunami, volcano. It's all there!

And there's rarely a moment you get bored. What with the driving, shooting, exploring, waggle stuff etc. it has a very arcade-y feel to it.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

And just to keep this tenuously on topic. FRAGILE!

My expections of the story are VERY low considering it has the words "farewell" "ruins" and "moon" in the same sentence of the title. That's cliche hell but I still might check it out.
