Well, it was deceptive to me. I knew nothing about Fractured Soul before watching this video and my first thought was that this was some sort of mediocre download title (or a pretty impressive Xbox Live Indie Game). Imagine my surprise when it zooms out to show the dual-screen action and I realize that it's actually a promising DS game.

I know that this isn't the first game to make use of both screens in such a manner, but that's a good thing. It's a concept that we do not see nearly often enough. Honestly, I'm a little bit surprised that there aren't more games which do this. I would have thought it obvious, but maybe there are concerns about disconnect between the two screens because of their separation. I'm just spitballing here, but I can see that being an issue.

Anyway, I want to see more Fractured Soul. It appears to have excellent potential.

That looks like a ton of fun, this is the first I've seen of the game. I bet this game will be really challenging though, I already had enough trouble keeping up with all the crazy stuff happening on both screens in Contra 4.

Pretty much what Ymber said. Looks really creative and fun but incredibly balls-hard during some of the platforming segments. I really hope this turns out well.

I remember seeing something like this awhile back, but I don't think it ever came out. The idea excited me then, and it still excites me now.

Nice soundtrack :P And solid gameplay, but why the killer instinct clay graphics ? Could have been so much more awesome with sprites snes style

I get a very nineties vibe from this. Not just because of the music, but the old-school platforming too. Is nineties old-school yet?. Maybe.

Also, this was on Destructoid a while back. How dare you not have an encyclopedic knowledge of Destructoid's history, Zimmerman! Good to know it hasn't disappeared though.

@brimtastic: Yeah, I checked for and found that prior story while writing this. You have to understand, I don't actually read Destructoid. :P

Wait... a "pretty mediocre download title" shouldn't jump straight to "a pretty impressive Xbox Live Indie Game". What kind of fucked up metric are you using here?

Either the game is good or bad, not "oh, well... since it's on system A, it's cool, but if it was on system B, then it is shit".

I'll say one thing for this game, looks bat shit insanely difficult, the video just makes it look easy.

reminds me a LOT of this DS game:

http://wii.ign.com/objects/001/001282.html

It was a really good idea, but poorly execute, because it was hard as hell to watch both screens at once. Hope this one is better.
