FPS and tower defense hybrid Sanctum 2 hits PSN today

4:00 PM on 09.11.2013

Sanctum 2 came to PC and Xbox 360 earlier this year. Our own Patrick Hancock reviewed it, ultimately enjoying the colorful sequel, which trends more towards first-person shooter than its tower defense leaning predecessor. Which sounds good to me because I shrink a bit at the mention of tower defense these days.

A friend of mine keeps bugging me to play Sanctum 2 with him, but I haven't found the time. Has anyone been waiting on a PSN release? It's available for $15, the same price it currently sits on Steam and XBLA.

Review: Sanctum 2

I think the first Sanctum game surprised a lot of people. It took the intellectual strategy aspect of tower defense games and combined it with the more action-oriented first-person shooter genre to create a unique, wonderful ...more

PAX: Sanctum 2 upgrades the original in every way

When the original Sanctum came out, it took the indie world by storm. As a first person tower defense game in 2011 (that kicked ass by the way), it was pretty unique. Coffee Stain Studios looks to repeat that success wit...more

Sanctum 2 trailer has a whistling alien

While this trailer doesn't really show a whole lot of what's coming in Sanctum 2, the game sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun. Keeping in line with its predecessor, it's a first-person shooter/tower defense hybrid wit...more

Sanctum 2 is aiming for PC and consoles in 2013

Did any of you play Sanctum? It's an enjoyable mix of first-person shooting and tower-defense maze building, and while I haven't been back to play the newer content, it's a recommendable game. According to Joystiq, it sold so...more

Boy, The Hong Kong Massacre sure looks like Hotline Miami

Hotline Miami by way of Stranglehold or any other John Woo flick, at least. Which is appropriate for the setting. Though I'm also reminded of Michael Mann's Miami Vice movie for some reason. I guess it can't exactly be Hotli...more

Kero Blaster stars a frog businessman

So Kero Blaster is apparently pretty much finished, despite Daisuke "Pixel" Amaya (Cave Story) originally scrapping the entire project (known as Gero Blaster) and doing the whole game over. It stars a businessman frog and hi...more

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare adds free Zomboss Down DLC

I'm not sure which alternate dimension Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare came from or how it got here but PopCap's wacky third-person shooter has been a pleasant surprise. Against all odds, the game keeps on giving: another...more
