Not to call anyone out...but I'm calling someone out. In an earlier story about Forza 3's soundtrack, someone (don't hate me!) said of the game:
Isn't this that racing game that was extremely over hyped and no one bought it?
No. That's wrong. You must be thinking of some other high-profile racing game. Forza Motorsport 3, the racing game we gave our Editor's Choice award to, is doing just fine. In fact, better than fine. In just one month's time, the game has sold over 1 million copies worldwide.
And, Mr. Someone, not only are they buying it, but they're playing the everloving sh*t out of it. Microsoft says that 6.6 million man hours have been spent playing the game since release. It totals up to 64 million connected sessions and over 590 million miles driven in the game to date.
In poor taste to call out a reader? Maybe. It's just that this one comment was so wrong that we felt the need to say something. Forza 3 is great. Whatever beef you have should be put aside to try it. And this is coming from a Gran Turismo guy!
[Update: Xbox top dog Aaron Greenberg adds some impressive stats in his Twitter feed for Forza 3's performance: "$18.7 billion spent LTD on Storefront, >4M auction bids, 1.5M items 4 sale." Wow.]

As for those saying GT5 is "better": I would have thought that time travellers would have more important things to do than post comments on the internet, and also, given the insane development time (over 4 years now) and cost (over $60 million), it'd be freaking embarrasing if it doesn't turn out to be so.
Although if GTPSP is an indication of what Polyphony deem "quality" these days, I wouldn't be so sure.

Reckon they are trying hard to get onto Fanboy Friday but have sorely missed the point.
It's been in the UK top 10 for 10 weeks now - that's pretty good going. Uncharted 2 was in the top 10 for 2 weeks - does that mean it's overrated, and a pile of wank?

I tried Shift on 360 and thought it was another Pro-Street. EA should stick to the cops and robbers formula. I like that.
Everyone keeps bringing up GT PSP in related to Forza3... It is a fucking PSP game versus your crown and jewel Xbox game... think there may be some differences there but I'm no surgeon.
Also interesting to note that Sony pushed Polyphony Digital HARD to get GTPsp out for their precious PSPgo launch... Kaz rushed it out for that.
You'll see... GT5 = GOTY, Best console racer ever, high in the rankings for best racing sim ever, and certainly 100x better than Forza's laughable everything. (Yes, I've played it... lrn2drive)
