Perhaps you noticed in the DS port of Chrono Trigger, but Frog's dialogue was entirely rewritten from it's SNES origins. It wasn't that what he said wasn't used properly, it was that it was woefully out of place. Why, in all the 1600 AD world, would he be the only one using such language? Simple answer is that he shouldn't have, and the problem was rectified for the port - better late than never.

But regardless, there was no foul in that particular translation in FF4. Some people just need to admit they didn't know it was a real word, that it was used in the proper context, and isn't used these days because, like all vernacular, it fell out of favor as time passed.

I'm sorry if I come across as oddly passionate about this, it's just that I had no idea so many people assumed it was some sort of translation error.

Probably not the worst line I've ever heard, but "N-not a CHARGED SHOT!?" from Megaman Maverick Hunter X made me lol. I mean, you see Vile whoop both X AND Zero, then all of the sudden he goes down in one hit. Stupid line, yet it was delivered so well too.
