There are a lot of amazing tracks here, and as much as I dont care or the GH series over Rock Band (Thogh GH: Metallica was great), Brand New and Tom Petty's Runnin down a Dream are enough to push me over the edge. Wish it was Money for Nothing though by the Dire Straights. Even the edited version of that would be amazing.

Not even my favorite Brand New song, but I will take it.

Last edited by ArcticFox; 07-05-2009 at 04:10 PM. Reason: Im going to remain skeptical of this list until it's official, but the bands match the ones shown in Game Informer...

As long as the Guitar Hero guitars still CLACKCLACKCLACK louder than the fucking music, I'll be sticking to Rockband.

Guitar Hero sucks, it really does.

So while this is an amazing playlist and I've been waiting for new Muse, Vampire Weekend, new Muse, new Muse, new Muse, and TV On The Radio on Rock Band, I'm willing to wait longer because Rock Band's drums aren't virtually unplayable.

You might not want to provide so many details about how you got this information. You could probably get somebody fired.

Are people really that gullible? I hate to be cynical but proof or it didn't happen.

Not a bad set list if true. Still prefer Rock Band, but I always get my money's worth out of the core Guitar Hero games.

I think we are being a bit skeptical, at the same time, he probably doesnt want to get fire/get someone fired. As for right now, this list will serve until we get confirmation, which will probs come soon anyway.

It's all completely believable but then so would any list of mainstream rock and metal songs with the occasional curveball thrown in.

I find I prefer the Guitar Hero controllers because of the clacking. Maybe it's because I play guitar (I don't know if you do or not, and I'm not trying to sound superior by saying that, I'm really not that great at it), but I find that the clacking provides feedback similar to hitting the strings, whereas with the Rock Band guitars, I don't feel as engaged in the game because of the lack of physical feedback. Sure there's visual and audio feedback, but I enjoy the physical.

But that's just me.

I know exactly what you mean. I don't really play guitar but I have before and I know where you're coming from. The lack of feedback bothered me when i first started playing Rock Band, but now I've gotten used to it enough that I like them better now.
As soon as Guitar Hero figures out how to make their guitars provide feedback like that without making an annoying noise, they'll win me back.

I haven't seen the entire Guitar Hero 5 track list, but I've seen enough of it to say that this is probably not it. Specifically, I know for a fact that the Garbage and No Doubt songs listed up there are NOT the songs that will be announced for the game... unless the Wii version has a different set list than the 360/PS3 versions. But I doubt it.

Neat list, though. I'd crack up if they put a digital Josh Homme in any game.

Guitar Hero sucks balls, but Bring the Noise with Public Enemy/Zack Wilde? Pretty sweet. I still won't buy it though, even if this is true, because as I said...Guitar Hero sucks balls. Activision is a dogshit publisher anyway.

The only track I am remotely excited about (that we actually know will be in GH5) is Lust For Life, and even then no fucking way am I dropping $60 on it when it'll probably be in Rock Band for $2 a week later.
