L4D 360 Tourney

I'm not sure if this would be the right forum to post about this but...

How much interest would there be in a casual L4D tourney?

Obviously, teams of 4. Don't have to be member of DToid but must have at least one to schedule games.
Schedule games in advance to make sure most can make it.
Every battle would have one go at No Mercy and one go at Blood Harvest. In case of 1-1 tie, would combine scores to see who wins.
Winner gets bragging rights and a pat on the back.

Thoughts? Ideas? Interst?

I think it's a pretty neat idea. I'd definitely be down for playing.

Might be hard to pull off, but if enough people join that we can form a lot of teams, it might work. In that spirit, I am definitely volunteering myself.

Alright, there seems to be some interest; might as well try it out.

Spread the word and get some teams together. We'll start a new thread for registration soon. Firstly, here are some rough rules I put together, what do you guys think?

Team Creation:
• At least one member of your team must be an active Dtoid forum member.
• Team to consist of four members.
• Submit a post with your team name and the Gamertags of your four members.
• Games will begin one week after the 6th team has registered.

Game Day:
• On first day of games, teams will be matched against each other.
• Team leaders schedule matches to ensure all members on both teams can make it.
• First match is to take place on No Mercy, subsequent match on Blood Harvest will be scheduled after first match.
• After the match, winning team leader is to post results, including overall scores, on Dtoid forums.

General Rules:
• A minimum of three team REGISTERED members must be present for the match. If less, game is rescheduled for another day. After two reschedules, the lacking team forfeits the match, ie:
o Day 1. Team A has less than 3 registered players. Match rescheduled.
o Day 2. Team A has less than 3 registered players. Match rescheduled.
o Day 3. Team A has less than 3 registered players. Match forfeit.
• In case of a 1-1 tie, scores from both matches will be combined and team with highest score chooses map to play game 3 on.
• If both teams agree, a rematch is permitted.
• Tourney will go on as long as is necessary for all teams to play their required games.
• No forklifts, generators, witch relocation or other exploits! Don’t be a tool. Play the game like it was meant to be played, ie.
o Pulling a survivor off the roof with the smoker by the satellite dish on Level 5 of No Mercy is TACTICS.
o Breaking down the garage door on Level 3 of No Mercy instead of taking the lift is EXPLOIT.

No, actually, it's not. The door has an animation for breaking, it's designed as an alternate path. That's why there is a button on the other side.

The door can be legitimately opened from the other side. Obviously designed that way in case someone gets smoked out the upstairs window and needs a quick way back.

Not using the lift is an explot and (most) people treat it as such.

I was so freaked out when I first saw people breaking that door. I was amazed I hadn't seen it done until a few weeks ago.

As for teams. I'll join anyones team. The RL friends are hard to schedule time with.
PM me.

I've almost got a full team. We're still working out the last member, but we should be ready by beginning of next week.

Not using the lift IS an exploit because the door was designed so that a Horde or the Tank would have a quicker access route to the Survivors. Valve didn't give the door enough HP however, so the survivors can knock it down on their own with enough work. So yes, it's an exploit. Knocking down the door is boring and cheap and nobody should really be defending it.
