Mod Failure.
So, I killed an already dead SNES controller. But I hit the 360 controller and practiced more. I'm doing much better. I think last night I was just tired and cranky. I guess after 16 consecutive work nights without a day off, and Live headset issues it's to be expected. I'm such a n00b.

Hey Haxan, if you're trying to improve the d-pad... try doing the pringles lid fix. I did it on all of the d-pads for my controllers and a couple others as well. Don't bother with sanding the outer rim, as I found that makes them worse.
I even found some thin plastic sheets at a craft store which is typically used to create stencils. All you do is cut it into a circle, punch a hole directly in the center (using a standard hole punch), then stick it in between the d-pad and the rubber membrane. It WILL improve the d-pad accuracy. Guaranteed. -Martigan |

Take that, you smug PS3 bastards!
Ah, it's come down to blaming controllers already? lol I'm using the 360 controller, too (analog stick). Would I be kicking that much more ass if I used a PS3 one? Hurricane kicks alone will not save you from Akuma, sir. This has been really fun, though. I wish I could spectate or watch video of the PS3 fights. Thanks for putting all this together, it sounds like you're fucking busy in real life. |

@Dan,
I tried to get my controller open, but those bottom screws are different and no screwdriver I own would crack them. What do you suggest for those? I do now have a soldering iron. So, I've one less excuse to mod up my Street Fighter Anniversary Stick (i.e. The Most Beautiful Thing I Own) with Happ parts. I've been meaning to do that for half a century. I could gut a 360 controller (the next one I throw against the wall should be the next candidate), and Frankenstein it all together. Also, if anybody is (or knows somebody who is) super wicked good with the mods, it's worth cash for me to play with a SNES pad on my 360. |

Haxan, you can use a tiny flathead screwdriver to get the screws out. They are torx shaped with a little security prong in the middle, but you can wedge a flathead in there.
Also, if the little prong breaks off while you are unscrewing, just switch to a slightly larger size flathead. Makes it easier actually. I use one of these: http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/...ctId=100074336 Oh, and there is a hidden screw underneath a sticker in the battery slot. |

Haxan I'll have you know that chances are I wont win this contest. Shocking but true. The reason being that I usually don't have control over my den and hence my HDTV and PS3 until 11pm EST.
Now if there was a way I could have make up time when I do fight you, that would be super. But I will understand if you can't do it. Again I'm always on @ 11pm and after, playing SOCOM. If you are ever on that late don't hesitate to shoot me an invite. |

@Yoj,
Good timing. I was planning on throwing up a c-blog today with some changes. So, here's a preview that may alleviate some of your problems. I'm going to allow make-up fights to happen to everybody with the following restrictions: 1) New matches for that day's theme character will take precedence. So make-ups can't happen when there are other challenges pending. I'd be able to get back to that person once any current daily challenges are taken care of. 2) Make-up sessions will only consist of the 10 matches with the theme character. The 5 bonus matches where the challenger chooses their own character will not apply. 3) A challenger wishing to make-up matches cannot pick and choose which characters to play as. They will have to go through the chronological order of days missed. Also, they will have to first play through the theme character matches for that day. This is to prevent challengers from cherry picking their best characters to heighten their win ratio. 4) Make-up matches will not count as days participated in regards to the prize for the person who competes the most. Doing all of the matches in a three day period does not win the shirt. So, I hope that helps you out somewhat, Jimbo. But also you can send me a PM and request that I be online at a certain time. I can't guarantee anything, but I'll try to make myself available when I can. Work and sleep will, of course, take precedence. I extend this to everybody. Since I may get a lot of these requests, assume that if I don't respond that I can't make it at that time. Also, if I go out of my way to be online at a certain time and find that I've been stood up, I'm not going to repeat that error with said competitor. Finally, C2C Shiro was my only challenge for yesterday on the Xbox with Zangief. Get yourselves in gear, Xboxers. I know the PS3 elite would love to hang on to as many top spots as they can. |

I forgot to add one thing about the make-up matches. There have been a few occassions where I've offered up make-up matches to people who had challenged me but I didn't have time to fight. These count as regular matches, not as make-ups. You'll still get your bonus 5. It will still count towards the Fight Night t-shirt prize.

I put the Friday results up a bit early, so I don't have to do it in the morning. I need to throw together some art for the c-blog post that I was hoping to get done today. I need an extra 3 hours in every day.

Hey, I was just wondering how many people are playing other 360 side? I ask because it sounds like you got more than enough challengers that you require make-ups, and I don't know if I'll even get a chance to get any matches in.

@TPJ (and anyone contemplating jumping in at this stage),
Currently, what you see in there in the standings is the complete roster of active fighters. Most people only fight sporadically, not every night. And even with the make-ups being announced for Thursday, I went from 8:30-10pm without a challenger (well, I log off after 9:30ish if no one's waiting, because I need to be finished no later than 10 to get ready for work). So as of right now that's a good time. I plan to be around on Saturday (though I'll know for sure in a few hours as to whether or not they're going to make me work this weekend), so Make-up match availability is not out of the question for anyone jumping in. Also, the points ranking system that I'm using is based on the total wins multiplied by the overall win percentage. This means that a person need not fight in a lot of matches to attain a good score. And a person that loses often, but plays a lot can also be competitive. I definitely encourage you to give it a shot! |

For realz? In 15 matches I guarantee I would get at least one win in. I came really close to taking you yesterday. Tell you what, I challenge you to skip your 5 bonus matches tonight, and we'll move them over to the Akuma day. I'd like to see you beat me 15 times in a row with him.
