Notch could be on xbla and PSN already if he didn't choose to play the wait and see game. Watch the latest episode of Bonus Round over at gametrailers.com. What does he expect to happen? This is video game land and it feeds on supply and demand. He may have screwed himself out of a lot of money. Of course there is probably a lawsuit pending...blah.

I'm curious,though. Why all the hate? It is completely original? No. But name me one game that is. Name me one movie or song. Anything at all. You can't. Everything in the world is built on a foundation that someone else laid.

I'm with Drakengard on this, the developer for Fortresscraft has been a complete and utter asshole, basically with the response of:

He 'knows' he's copying the property entirely, he 'knows' he's looking to make a quick buck and he 'knows' that what he's doing is, for the most part, WRONG.
But rather than Mojang taking action, they've just sat by doing nothing.

I tried the trial of it and just didn't bother playing for more than a few minutes. There's room for a lot of improvement before I feel like I would spend a dime on it.
I've injoyed it, and I'll keep playing it till they put Mindcraft on consoles. Also if you look at some of the update plans, it looks like this game is going a different path then Mindcraft. There's plans for PVP and combat.

c) Repeat B, for every "first game" in every genre.
It should also be noted that the game has an average score of more than 4/5 based on over 6,300 reviews. Seems a bit better than "garbage" to me.

kinda obvious what this game is going for.Microsoft should just stop allowing third party games to be on their system and just make copies of successful games in the one true divine look of micro$soft. coming this summer WARP-HOLE:uses avatars to create holes that let you walk through walls and solve puzzles while an evil "male voiced" robot watches your every move
I am honestly shocked. I have the demo, and it is the glitchiest, as well as the interface being awful.

Myself and a couple of my friends bought this game just to support the developer. It may be pretty boring now, with the lack of mining and all, but I'm going to continue supporting this guy.
It's a "Me too" game. We've seen the like before. Dev A gets successful on a concept, Devs B through Q decide they want in on the cash flow. Generally they're slapped-together, shallow imitations of the successful version, though occasionally one actually turns into a decent product which finds a way to differentiate itself from the crop.
From everything I've heard, this isn't one of those games. Now, Ace of Spades is looking interesting...

Also, MS is in no way supporting this game. Its been reviewed by peers NOT working with MS (I should know, I was one of the guys that reviewed Avatar Online Adventures). They only get 70% of profits, like they do with ALL XNA games.

Super Meat Boy is a rip-off of N. Streets of Rage is a rip-off of Final Fight. Practically every 2D platformer ever rips off Super Mario Bros. That argument is silly. That said, ProjectorGames needs a better PR guy. Starting BS rumors about Mojang suing your company is not a good way to market your game.
Of interesting note, last week the dickweeds making this claimed that Mojang were suing them last week.

my Brother got this game...so far it's pretty good I see him play it alot it looks like he's enjoying it...hmm I like it more than Minecraft honestly.
I bought it and have played around with it a little. Graphics are excellent -- for a blocky voxel world -- and from what I understand, future "chapters" of the game will diverge more and more from Minecraft. It's supposed to draw (or swipe, if you prefer) the other half of its inspiration from Dwarf Fortress, hence the name.
It's reportedly a little glitchy, though in the short time I've spent playing with it so far the only one I've noticed is occasional black sides on blocks. Last I checked, there's supposed to be an update coming Monday of next week.
Anyhow, as a wise man once said, I shall watch its career with great interest.

Yuck. Between this game and Eden on the iOS platform, I'm done with the half-assed builder games. If he wants to do something different they could start by removing the useless donkey-tits pickaxe. Why is it even there?
Its like the pickaxe is there to remind the player of how boring Alpha was before Survival mode was added.
If this is being piece-meal doled put in chapters, I'll be waiting a while before getting into it again. My wallet is hesitant to part with another 3 dollar do nothing game.

I'm going to try this game out honestly don't know what the whole Minecraft business is but I'd rather play sitting on my bed not at a desk.
i love internet arguments. what upsets me is how unashamedly the dev is capitalizing on minecraft's success. dante's inferno did it to god of war, gameloft does it to everything. i'll just stick to the real deal myself
We've seen this type of thing happen for decades. Remember Pac Man? There were countless clones flooding the market. Some of them could stand up on their own right like Lady Bug and Mouse Trap. Others, you don't even remember their names. Don't get mad at this behavior. There will be innovation along with the imitation, and that's the thing to remember. It's good for the industry.

Your telling a fellow gamer they can not voice their own opinion? On top of that, your argument couldn't be more "INVALID". Developers take/get ideas from each others games and that's what make competition. I'm sorry but if you can mistaken a screen shot or gameplay of Prey for Portal, you have to let your eyes rest. BTW: I do agree with your "Jet Set Radio" comment.

for a second i thought i was on grrlgamer.com because you all sound like a bunch of girls. quit crying. don't bash something you haven't even tried. if you're against this game on principle, don't buy it. easy as that.
that being said, a lot of people have tried it and liked it (4/5), i thought it was so-so, but i don't mind clones. i love gameloft's ios games. you girls really have nothing better to do than whine and cry about games you've never played. this is why i don't read comments here most of the time. this site turned into a 14 years of age & under site.
