With all this talk of three-day-long Metal Gear Solid cutscene marathons and such, RPG gamers may be feeling a little lonesome for some news that speaks to them. Well, never fear, little gamers: I consider it my personal mission to keep you informed on what's going on with current titles, which may take you 60+ hours to complete, but won't make you watch a cutscene the length of a freaking film. In case you aren't up to date on the latest entry in the Tales series, Dawn of the New World comes out for the Wii in Japan this June and is slated for a North American release in September. The story takes place two years after the events of the original Tales of Symphonia for the GameCube. I find myself reminded of Skies of Arcadia as far as the art style is concerned. What say you, RPG fans -- yay or nay? [Thanks, Adam]

with this coming out, and tales of vesperia for the 360, and dragon quest IV and dragon quest IX, Im seriously going to fail the fall semester.
I am excited for this! I loved the first game on the GameCube. :)
Being a fan of the Tales series and Symphonia in particular, I'll most likely end up playing this. But honestly the last thing I need is another RPG to add to my list of games to play. The pile keeps getting bigger and bigger, but I suppose that's a good problem to have.
I'm really excited for this game. ToS is what got me into the Tales series and this game is one of the reasons why I got a Wii.
Symphonia was the first Tales of game I actually finished (never could sit my ass down long enough on my computer to finish phantasia.) Personally I'd rather see it on a system not the Wii, but i'll more than pick it up.
Now when is Tales of the Abyss coming to NA Dses?
After watching the trailer, its nice to see the original Symphonia cast returning. Though...just where is Kratos?
someone find the opening theme name. I falls in luv wit it.
@Shin Oni
The Japanese opening theme is "Nininsankyaku: (Three-Legged Race) by misono.
thanks so much Scape. I'll have to get it once I'm off work.
So the name got changed from "Knights of Ratatosk"? The first ToS game for gamecube was amazing, so naturally I'm excited for this one.
I can't freakin' wait. ToS is one of my favorite RPGs ever. Definitely one of the best casts and cast chemistries. I can't wait to play!!! XD
Color me excited...in my pants. I loved Symphonia, but wanted MOAR when it was over. This will fit nicely in with the lull between other titles I must patiently wait for. Thanks Colette!
Any word on reworked co-op? It was crap on he original title.
This game, while the combat looks good. Graphically is really disappointing. The characters need more contrast or something they just look washed out and dead to me. Still want to play it of course. Does anybody know how much this game relies on the first, story wise?
I say YAY
I adored the GC game. The cast in Symphonia is made up of some of the best RPG characters ever. I love that the main character was not a douche. That was nice.
DO NEED!
I loved the first one....but where the hell is kratos and why the hell is zelos there...
My GCN was notorious for destroying my game saves (I owned official cards only fwiw). I was quite addicted to Symphonia but never finished it. When you're 120 hours in grinding for max levels and 100% completion, a deleted save will kind of sap your will you know? I doubt I'd ever buy a Wii to play the sequel without having finished the original.
I already have this pre-ordered. I really enjoyed Tales of Symphonia so I'll be gettting this one. I just hope we get alot of Sheena...

Goodness I loved the first one.
I loved the first one so of course I am excited about this one. I kinda wish that they kept the original cel-shaded style. This game has pretty okay graphics but as proven by Mad World the Wii can do some amazing cel-shading.
As long as this game has more pseudo-lesbian hot tubs scenes, I am SOLD!
Yay!
Tales of Symphonia was a solid game. I personally can't wait for this :D
For people asking why Zelos is there and Kratos isn't well, that means you didn't get the canon ending of the first one. In the real ending, Zelos redeems himself, and I think Kratos dies.
Dude, I LOVED the first game. I was literally sad when I finished the first one, I even felt like I had to say goodbye to friends.
Now all I have to do is finish Persona 3 by September, then I can pick this one up.
I could cry I'm so happy.
Now damnit gimme Rebirth, a-holes.
I'm still slugging through Legendia though....hopefully I'll have that done before this and Vesperia.
Hell yes!!! But, I really need to finish the first one now.
Hell....YES!!!!! :D
I played through the GameCube Tales of Symphonia, and I liked it, but I don't know if I've got the time to play through another one. I didn't like the first one that much.
Do fucking want! I saw the orignal cast is back to play, fucking awesome!
umm, yep, definite cause for failing a few classes.
Will the story be as trite and cliched as in the original ToS?
Another RPG that will be on the list... and the list is growing... O_O'
omg a 60+ hour RPG has cliche's that's not every RPG.
Do Want!
Man, how did I miss this? I've got the original Tales of Symphonia sitting on my desk right now. It's a fantastic game and I'm glad I played it. I can't wait for this one.
It looks like they've made some changes to the FRLMBS that are more than welcome. Not to say the LMBS is obtuse, far from it, but some additions are always welcome, especially if they enhance the experience.
this had better come out in the UK *shakes fist*
Thank god this trailer came out-while stoking my gaming boner on the trailer from god knows how long ago, I realized it looked blocky. This looks MUCH better.
I knew that locations were going to be re-uesed, but damn, could you do more than just upgrade the graphics a bit?
i love tales of symphonia i defeated it 15 times
