Creators of Xbox LIVE Arcade success 'Splosion Man, Twisted Pixel, gave the world its first glimpse of its next downloadable title, Comic Jumper, at Austin's SXSW event. We're guessing the vast majority of you missed that opportunity, but that's nothing to worry about now: the footage of the slice of game Twisted debuted during the demo has been made available for us to share. As a bonus, we have images too.

If you're lucky enough to hold PAX East tickets, you'll get a shot to see Comic Jumper at the Boston-based event. Twisted Pixel announced this afternoon that the game is to be demoed at the event during 1 PM, 3 PM, and 5 PM.

I'm getting good vibes from Comic Jumper. Creative brawlers are rare these days, and good humor is even more rare. If 'Splosion Man or The Maw are any indication, we're in for another treat with this downloadable.

Before I forget: in the official release it's mentioned that the game will feature a host of game modes outside of just brawling, including "riding a Brad-bot down the side of a building" and "intense panel-jumping transitions." Sounds like the Comix Zone we've always wanted (and didn't get).

Can't. Wait. The footage is ace. I'm really hoping this has a co-op mode, though, as the co-op in 'Splosion Man is incredible. So fiendishly difficult, but so, so addictive. Anything remotely similar would make my day.

Looking good so far! Twisted Pixel are on a roll!

The gameplay itself looks dull and repetitive and the graphics look unpolished. The humor also feels forced and for the most part, isn't that funny.

Next to Valve this is my favorite game company to watch. This demo looks incredible, and the fact that they're gonna tie together the "stories" of The Maw and 'Splosion Man with this make me all pants-excited.

I'm a big Twisted Pixel fan but after watching the video the game looks pretty dull. The comedy is decent, I'd say passable at most, but I have doubts that it'll be enough to carry the seemingly generic looking gameplay. It looks like the main thing this game has going for it is the entertaining visuals and unique style.

Sadly, I agree with Cameron Schott. I love Twisted Pixel's last two games, but the "humor" in that video is forced and dull, and the gameplay doesn't look fun in the least.

Forced and dull?

Because you know, it's not like it's the only piece of comedy writing ever to be forced and dull, right?

I've looked forward to the comedic value ever since the original trailer last year back at E3 09, and I'd say this is living up to expectations.

If you guys are looking for comedy gold, please go elsewhere, I don't need to raining on my parade because 'you' don't think it's funny. It's like people who bitch about Dane Cook or Family Guy or ANY OTHER POPULAR COMEDY OUTLET PERIOD, just because you don't laugh doesn't mean you need to ruin why other people laugh.

Comedy is forced, Graphics should really be cel-shaded. And looking at that woman's tits and waist makes me feel uneasy. Like I'm looking at an MC Escher painting.

I was agreeing with you until Dane Cook. He is the Antichrist and deserves all the criticism he receives.

Needs polish. That's for sure.

The characters are all so hate-able, not in the funny way, either.

"it's not like it's the only piece of comedy writing ever to be forced and dull, right?"

How does the fact that OTHER comedy is also forced and dull make THIS comedy any better? Comedy that is forced and dull is, by definition, not very funny.

I thought both 'Splosion Man and The Maw were charming and funny. Based on the above video, I don't feel the same about Comic Jumper.

Either way, that is my opinion, which I am free to express. I wasn't rude about it, and I didn't say that anybody who thinks it is funny is an idiot. It's an opinion, and me voicing my opinion about not finding this funny only "rains on your parade" if you let it. I was being critical of Twisted Pixel, not of you. Like whatever you like, it's just fine with me.

And for the record, I think Dane Cook and Family Guy are both hilarious.

For people saying "OMG THE GRAPHICZORZ are unploished!!" and saying the game isn't funny, I like how you can say all this despite the fact yo have never played it, and you watched the demo on a small box on your monitor. The graphics will change art styles in every act, u should research and check it out more. Twisted Pixel is awesome, if you don't find their stuff funny then you really have no sense of humor, even if the humor is sophmoric, maybe your just old.

See my last comment. I agree that Twisted Pixel is awesome. I don't agree that this game looks fun or funny.

I think it's awesome that you do, though. Hope you have a great time with it.

First time I've been legitimately excited for a non-Nintendo game this year. Gives the impression of a game I'll just smile all the way through, and to be honest if I'm not either smiling, laughing, thinking or on a constant adrenaline rush, I'm probably not enjoying myself.

Regardless of what you think of the humour, zany-ass games like this are becoming somewhat less common than they used to be.

My apologies, lemme retool my comment then:

It's fine that people don't like it but everyone, do not let the comment turn into a 'what is or isn't funny' war.

Better? Again, forgive me for my apparent hostility.

That being said, to the person who called Dane Cook the anti-christ of comedy, I guarantee you there are much MUCH worse people than him out there. If you've seen some of the god awful comedians put on comedy central presents as of late, you'd understand.

Oh, that and a good number of idiots on youtube 'trying' to be funny.

Was kind of digging the style (even though I agree that the writing was mediocre at best) as it sort of evoked a Ratchet and Clank vibe. However, that gameplay needed more variety like I need oxygen (which is to say that it needed it quite badly).

I mean, is it really fair to judge a game as dull by the first few minutes?

The humour is awful in a bad way. The characters are so annoying it hurts. Shame, the first screens looked cool.
