Footage from The Behemoth's newest game pops up photo

I played Castle Crashers until the nubs on my 360 controllers were all but worn off, and before that I nearly tackled Dan Paladin at GDC to thank him for creating Alien Hominid, one of my favorite games of all time. The Behemoth isn't content to just rest on their laurels, though, and proof comes in the form of a trailer for their latest game!

Hit the jump to check out the beautiful chaos of this yet-to-be-named title, which looks colorful and fun even at first glance. It looks like there quite a few different ways to play and a plentiful selection of character to play as from the footage shown, and I've also heard murmurs of varying difficulty modes as well. Anyway, why are you still here listening to me? Hit the jump and watch it in all its glory (and then lurk obsessively around The Behemoth dev blog for future updates).

[Thanks, Andrew!]

Co-op platforming looks sweet but for the most part I've got no idea what is going on there.

Never did finish Castle Crashers either, must get to that.

It looks like Bubble Bobble and Little big Planet had a jailbait baby and Bubble Bobble keeps sending the child building blocks, but uncle N+ keeps putting lazers and spikes in them.

Best possible trailer, at the best possible time.

The Behemoth is crazy, but their games are fun.

More studios need to be crazy.

I'm hoping that's just one game mode out of several because it lookks pretty shallow from that footage. But I love platformers and Castle Crashers, so I'll keep this on my radar.

I see true co-op, some Q-Bert style action...maybe some Smash Brothers style bashing? I pray that this game is truly as epic as I hope.

Beautifull , looks like it has a competitive Q Bert style mode and a co-op plataforming like the Disney game with Mickey and Donald in the SNES and Genesis but with more shooting ...

@Timdabrat and Daxelman,

The piece of music used for the trailer is the "Dies irae" from the Requiem composed by Giuseppe Verdi.

This game looks nothing short of amazing. Then again, Verdi's "Dies Irae" makes anything 10x more epic. Seriously, that trailer could've been footage of a fat guy eating a banana and mayo sandwich, but put Verdi in the background, and my friend you are LOCKED onto that sandwich..."OMG THE MAYO IS DRIBBLING DOWN HIS STUBBLE-RIDDEN CHIN! *GASP*" Epic.

My friends and I logged far more hours on the Alien Hominid PDA games than the main game itself. If this keeps the same cooperative/competitive feel, it will be incredible.

Watch the trailer again, but substitute the Andy Griffith Show music. Or a recording of Robert Frost reading his own poetry.

It could be fun, but epic? Maybe not. Good trailer, for sure. And don't get me wrong, i LOVE the Behemoth. I got a chance to visit the San Diego studio, and it was a cool experience. Too bad I failed to capitalize as I should have, but that's another story...

... I have to wait until 2010 to get my hands on random coop platforming madness?! CURSE YOU, DEVELOPMENT TIME!

I haven't picked up Castle Crashers just yet, nor Alien Homonid but I have briefly played them both before and I enjoyed them a lot. I really like the art style and the simplicity of the gameplay which feels very retro. NOW FINISH THIS GAME, BEHEMOTH! I need random crying cube people with emeralds now!
