Folklore going portable? PSP version is said to be in the works photo

People around here have had their eye on the upcoming PS3 title called Folklore, as its unique look and gameplay style have already made a good impression. Now it looks like a version of the game will be making its way to the Sony PSP in the near future.

Kikizo says that a PlayStation Portable edition of Folklore is already in the works in Japan. They recalled mention of Shin Megami Tensei creator Kouji Okada's involvement early on when the game was still called Monster Kingdom: Unknown Realms, so they checked with Sony to see if Okada was still involved.

"Yes he is," Sony's Bill Ritch told Kikizo at an event in London on Monday. "We've got a PSP version [of Folklore] and Kouji Okada is working on that."

Kikizo says that Okada is working exclusively on the PSP version, and that he will not be involved with the PS3 Folklore. They also say that Sony was reluctant to talk about this portable version of Folklore, and that they refused to comment on whether the two games would have any linkable features.

Isn't there already Monster Kingdom Jewel Summoner out on PSP in the U.S? This new PSP cut must be a sequel to that, perhaps. Whether this new one will be more of a PS3 influence game should be interesting, as Folklore is more action based and Monster Kingdom Jewel Summoner on PSP is turn based.

Folklore looks like Fable for the PS3 to me, which can only be a good thing.
