Flash-based Plants vs. Zombies is tiny, still awesome photo

For a while, Plants vs. Zombies was everywhere you looked. People wouldn't shut up about it -- myself included -- but sure enough, the pure gaming excitement everyone was dispensing finally died down.

Now that PopCap has put out a flash-based version of the popular, uh, lawn defense game, will the cycle continue? I hope not. Don't get me wrong, I love Plants vs. Zombies to death, and in the process of getting a screenshot for this article I lost track of time in a matter of minutes, but I'm worn out from last time.

Apparently there is a new zombie in this version of the game, but I don't want to get sucked in again in order to find out what it looks like. Perhaps one of you will have a few hours of downtime at "work" today and can find out for us? That'd be great!

Ahhaha I was just about to click the link to go check out the game when I saw that last line: "Perhaps one of you will have a few hours of downtime at "work" today and can find out for us?" Then I remembered I was at work and that I should be working.

My computer makes that game literally look like a slide show. I'm talking literally less than one frame per second in the parts with lots of zombies on screen at the same time.

@arkhon Try the download version (if your at work, download it at home). That will probably raise the speed.
