Five new multiplayer maps coming to Sniper: Ghost Warrior photo

For those of you who like to slowly and methodically shoot people in the face from afar, take note -- City Interactive's Sniper: Ghost Warrior is getting downloadable content.

The publisher has announced that it will be adding five multiplayer maps to the mix, with "longer range shooting distances." The new maps will have players vying to take control of ruined oil rigs and capturing stone towers. To do this, you'll have to shoot people in the face from afar and, conversely, not get shot in the face from afar.

No word on pricing or release date, but the new content will be available on both Steam and Xbox Live for PC and Xbox 360 respectively. Sniper has found inexplicable and surprising success in the United Kingdom, hanging steadily for many weeks with titles from top-tier publishers. With that said, there must be someone out there excited about this announcement, right? Let us know!

I've got it AND I like it :P It's quite a solid little shooter on MP, very stress inducing if played in the right way, ie a camping bugger lol.

If the maps are free its a no brainer, might even drop a few quid if its not.

With that image, I'm always hoping for Sniper: Ultimate Warrior. Anyone else?

Surprisingly, this game doesn't suck at all.

It lacks some polish due to the fact that it's from a no-name publisher/developer, and the difficulty was incredibly fucked up when I played it, but it was still a really solid game. And I love the Chrome Engine.

I don't get the bad rep this game gets, it's quite an enjoyable game.

Fair enough the campaign is lame and the run-and-gun sections lack any of the style or polish of modern shooters but the online play is tense and well executed.

Nothing beats spying a dude hiding in some bushes miles away and dome popping him.

I got it, played it, traded it. The shooting mechanics are great and I enjoyed the MP - but the only minimal stats and the lack of people playing a week after release made me lose interest fast.
