Most Koei games make it a point to show that riding things is pointless. Dynasty Warriors and other related titles all include the riding of horses, but the only reward for a player choosing to do so is death. Riding a horse is a death sentence, because anyone who jumps into the saddle will quickly find themselves occupying the same space as a million billion arrows/musket-balls/spear-points. If you want to get somewhere fast in a Warriors game, you run and hope to find a "Speed + 30 sec." power-up.
Hokuto Musou's (aka Fist of the North Star Musou) newest trailer (visible below) fails to prove my impression of mounted travel wrong. In fact, the character riding a motorcycle is almost immediately knocked off of his ride. Why bother, right?
However, the trailerdoes succeed in showing of many characters with some gory, over-the-top special moves. Like kicking a bunch of dudes so hard that they start to inflate and explode in a shower of blood. Yes, I don't know how that's physically possible, but that does not stop it from being awesome.
Also, check out the ad for a premium edition at the very end of the trailer. It comes with a talking alarm clock!
these trailers are really making this game look good, at least to long time fans.
dunno if motorcycles were what i would have pulled from this trailer, since this is i think the first time that fudo, juda and souther have been featured, as well as raoh as a playable character.
still can't tell exactly how much of the story they will be covering, but at least we know it's going to be at least until souther pops up.
I want this game so bad. I hope a localization announcement comes soon, because if not, I will definitely import it. The fact that Rei looks to be playable just makes this even more DO WANT.
I totally agree with Zayger. I am never without a horse in DW 6. Just like Raoh, I only dismount my horse when it's time to really kick some ass.
Incidentally, I hope they leave the Japanese voice acting in the game (or, at least, have an option for them, along with the English voice-overs). "Omae wa mo shinderu," just sounds cooler.
Awesome image, Crunshii. I just got done watching that OVA.
I'm sick of KOEI recycling the same shit over and over again. The DW games are terrible repetitve garbage. Hopefully soon they file for bankruptcy or something.
So, the special edition of the game includes a "treasure box" (or something) that shrieks at you? Hm, I think I'll pass on that version. Game looks neat, though.
This looks pretty goddamned awesome, I gotta say. I'm not even particularly into Fist of the North Star, and I want this.
Also, Josh, you just need to properly equip your guys in your Warriors games. Basically all of them have some sort of way to make it so you can't get knocked off your horses, either through equippable items, skills or the horse's special ability. Samurai Warriors also added a kind of lifebar to your horse that had to be depleted to get knocked off. And you've also never played as Ma Chao in DW 4/5. There is basically no reason to EVER get off a horse as that guy. He was, until DW6, some manner of mounted demon beast.
The post is written in very a good manner and it entails many useful information for me. I am happy to find your distinguished way of writing the post. Now you make it easy for me to understand and implement the concept. Thank you for the post.

I truly think this is Koei's best work of all the games they have made, I hope I am right.
@ JiR INC: Well there is no confirmation but rest assured if Gundam made it to the west, Hokuto should as well :)
Sure Jagi's bike fails, but you didn't at all mentioned Kokuoh-Go Raoh was riding. The epic screen shaking that happens when it jumps...wow.
This game is looking good for Koei. I hope they bring this to the USA on release day!
Rei has jazz hands like whoa.
Ken!
Stop that man! O_o
Anyone know if the 360 version is going to be region free? I prefer that controller.
Game looks awesome and true to the series which is sweet but is it coming to the west? I WANNA KNOW!

No not nice is it
This is a very good thing.

Also if you can't get Kokuoh-go, this will be fail.
