Not long after the news that Mr. Driller was coming to Japanese WiiWare in the form of Mr. Driller World, we have video to show you of the title. The classic title has certainky gotten a bit of a makeover -- so ultra-cute that I can't help but feel like even a twelve year old girl with a pink DS and a dog named Princess might cringe a little. Would any guy ever be caught dead playing this?

Cuteness aside, it looks like the game could be fun. We've heard no word on a US release date from Namco Bandai as of yet, but I'd be surprised if it didn't come out here considering the 360 got a Mr. Driller game last year. We'll keep you posted just in case you are actually interested in this cotton candy concoction of a game. Hit the jump for one mroe video.

It wasn't THAT cute, Colette. And, yea, I'd probably buy it if it made it over here.

I hope it doesn't have any stupid "waggle hammer" controls. If so, they'll ruin one of my greatest childhood memories from the PSX Mr. Diller.

Also, I played the 360 version right in front of my guy friends, and they didn't say anything other than "this game looks fun".

I want this game.

And Magnalon, I saw GC controller support, so I'm guessing that motion controls are optional at the very worst.

The music and colors make it feel very Nintendo64-ish which is a great thing.

I doubt that getting crushed by tons of solid rock sounds like a tart in the face but oh well.

I get super hard for Mr. Driller, so this news pleases me greatly.
